Thanks very much for this video. I needed to make a few lanyards for my boat. I used to have a link to a different explanation of how to make lanyards like this, using two separate pieces of line, but cannot find it, or anything like it anywhere. Your method is MUCH easier and faster, once you get the hang of it. I use 2 pushpins and a block of wood to hold the ends while I pull the knots tight. I eventually realized that the braiding is relatively simple, if you just look for the end that is STICKING UP after each knot. This is end that is passed first under the doubled loop. The other end goes under this end, over the doubled loop, and then down into the loop on the other side, and is drawn taut. The next knot is done by looking for the line that is STICKING UP out of the previous knot, and starting with that end. Just continue till the lanyard is as full as you wish. I used 45 inches of line to make 5 inch lanyards, which fit my shackles perfectly. Great video.
