The audio quality isn't the best (it's from an iPhone in the audience surrounded by squeaky chairs), but it's worth it for the reaction from Maestro Haas and Jarrett Bastow (our principal bassist).

It's so incredible to see the subcontrabassoon live on a stage, to think of back a few years ago when it was nothing more than an ambitious idea!

I was present at this event. What you hear is what I heard. What you don't experience is the whole air space of the hall resonating all around you. Was a very special experience.

How many hertz is that low note? I read that human ears cannot hear below 20 hz

About 16 Hz. The 20 Hz hearing limit is reasonably accurate for pure tones, but acoustic instruments don't produce pure tones.
