This taper provides reliable self-locking and centering of parts. Moreover, they can be repeatedly removed and put on the workplace without compromising the reliability of fixation.

In order to sharpen a taper 1:50, it is necessary to turn the upper slide by an angle of 34´23 ". But the price of division of the rotary device is 1 °.
But on the machine it is possible to make accurate feed by limbs and make accurate measurements by the indicator.
Therefore, the angle of rotation can be provided indirectly by specifying linear values. I already did a similar job when I sharpened the Morse taper 1. The video is on my channel:

It is described how I indirectly ensured the rotation of the upper slide by an angle with sufficient accuracy, setting linear values when turning pins with a taper of 1:50.
For an angle of 34´23 ", the sine is 0.01. For this machine and such a chuck, I chose a feed of 48 mm, that is, 32 turns of the longitudinal feed handle. It is necessary to turn the slide so that when the slide is fed by 48 mm, the indicator deviates by 0.48 mm. . This will mean that the carriage is rotated at an angle of 34´23 ".
The sled turned. Carved one cone. The part turned over and, without changing the position of the upper slide, carved another cone, from the other end of the bar.
After that, I carved the handles for these pins, so that it was convenient to use them.
I checked the pins for the paint. It can be seen that the print is good everywhere. The fit is good.
Once again I was convinced that setting the angle of rotation of the upper slide by the indicator allows sharpening the cone with good accuracy.
