@@davidolowoyanwo1667 on 1:40 what tool is this? And is it at any hardware store? Thanks ahead of time and I Love watching your work! I'm getting ready to start doing these and the bracelet too! Advancement time!
I make many of these type of rings, you can get all the fire scale off with a homemade pickle solution (1 cup white vinegar + 1 tspn salt slowly heated) and it’ll make it much easier and less filling, looks great!
Cool video! As someone who makes jewelry with copper- my advice to those trying this would be: Wearing gloves, At the end, wipe it down with lemon/lime juice (I use a q tip). Then, sprinkle some baking soda on it, rub it around, and use a damp paper towel to wipe it off. This will clean the surface really well. After you're sure it's dry, spray some lacquer on it. That will keep it looking beautiful and not corroding for a long time. 👍
You bave to add solder to the jiont, the ring may bend easily and will cuuase premature fialure. Also thay jiont doesnt look good, try soldering it and placing a think copper sheet over the soldered gap, it will remian copper colored and be much stronger
Amazing guy ❤ so lovely I want to watch your all vedios ❤❤ man can also do these types of things 😮 I am girl so I don't know about man that they can do these type of things
Thank you for your opinion. I will be glad if you rate my work on my channel. By the way, in one of the videos we made a sapphire ring out of a titanium tube.
Yes, you just need to make very sure you have only the tiniest gap between the two ends, and they are filed and clean and will seat flush. Then solder how you wish and finish.
What exactly is that blue stuff that you use at the end. I take it it’s a type of polish? I’m in Canada so I’m trying to find this kind of stuff. Thank you
Wow, really cool to see this transformation! What was attached to that drill tip to polish it? I ask because I am not a jeweler, wanting to buy so I can polish some Copper jewelry I have, attaching to a Dremel. Thanks!
Idk if you still want to know, it’s just room temp, he is annulling the metal (making it soft) only works for non ferrous metals I.e. copper, silver, gold not steel. It reduces the chance of the ring snapping or cracking when bending/ working the metal.
Nice work but.... I've found that if it's not a complete solid band then the open ends are prone to catch on things and can easily misshapen the band by pulling it open and causing a need for constant reshaping. Just my opinion.
Unlike iron/steel, copper is work hardened meaning it becomes harder when it was being hammered and what not. Heating copper will make it more soft and pliable
Thank you for your opinion. I will be glad if you rate my work on my channel. By the way, in one of the videos, we made gold earrings out of ordinary coffee beans.
The heat is used to “anneal” the material, causing it to soften up. The characteristics of cooper are unique in that they are generally soft but can become hardened by bending or “working” the piece. Once it gets stiff, it can be resoftened by Annealing, you can do this as many times as you want
