I made a table saw sled that has an adjustable fence to cut any angle you need! It also has integrated stop blocks to make accurate, repeatable cuts every time. And the sled has clamps integrated to make cutting small parts much safer. Amazon and other affiliate links are used in this description and they help support this channel.

A table saw sled is essential for small parts and perfect accuracy on the table saw. Stop blocks allow for repeated cuts. Your sled does all of that. I like it. Good job Matt. At the end you discussed squaring up your saw - the blade should always be parallel to the miter slots as everything on the table saw should allign to the miter slots. Adjusting that can be fun/challenging sometimes. You did good. Thanks for the video.

Nicely done Matt - Thank you for showing that it can take several tries to get things square. Sometimes, I think we watch build videos and everything is made to look so easy. This can set an unrealistic expectation on the new woodworker. It's important to show mistakes, but more importantly how to fix them and not get discouraged - keep trying! Please tell Amy hello! :)

I have finally gotten a table saw. One of the first things I'm doing is making a sled for it. Might not have all the fancy gadgets on it that you got, but I'm going to put my "all" into it. Next big purchase is maybe a planer......if I cant afford a planer, I'm getting a small belt sander and I'll rig up to hold all my pieces wood "straight"... I'm starting off with cutting boards, serving tables, and engagement ring boxes..... Then moving up to bigger projects.

Just a little tip my mother showed me years ago that works really well. Bar soap works and lasts a lot longer than paste wax. Used it on a bread box I made 35 years ago and I haven't had to use it again since then. Oh and by the way I won 1st place with it in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in 1986.

I love my cross cut sled. Time to make another one for two reasons. First…. I love the micro jig stops and such and need some hold down options. Second… Mine has aluminum miter runners. They have little set screws so snug up and it seems like I have to readjust them every time I start a new project. I think the next one I will use hard wood runners.

Loved that level trick. My dad had an old magnesium beam level that was used for laying brick and block and the vials were either broken or loose. Instead of trying to fix it, I stripped off the remaining bubbles and saved it for a future project because the surfaces were still flat and true. I will certainly use that beam for truing up glued pieces.

My Ryobi trim router died yesterday, so I bought a Makita, which is the same brand Tamar at 3X3 Custom uses, however I bought the corded version because it is variable speed and has a 6.5 Amp motor. I also bought the kit, which comes with three bases, (plunge, offset, and angled) has an edge guide, and comes with a dust port. Retire the Ridgid and buy that. On Amazon, it is $205. which is a bargain because it is $249 at HD. You don't always need batteries and the corded model will probably outlive me. It will also accept standard template bushings.

Turned out nice... Just curious why you didn't chamfer the inside of your fence? sawdust will collect there and not allow you to get accurate cuts. and finally @ 2:01 your table saw wings do not appear to be level.
@katzmosestools
@katzmosestools 3 года назад
(In my opinion which doesn't mean jack) You don't need it with this stop block setup and I think it actually traps more dust. When you're cutting multiple parts the piece slides towards the dust and pushes it out of the way. With a chamfer under the fence it traps it behind the piece and rolls it like a snowball. This causes it to build up and can actually push your workpiece away from your fence slightly. Usually the chamfer is because when people clamp a stop block that goes all the way to the table of the sled dust builds up in the corner where you're trying to butt your workpiece against. Cheers and great question. I think (again my opinion) the fence chamfer was started a few years ago on YT and juts became one of those myths that needs to be busted. Maybe I'll do a video on it.

I'm really wanting to use the set I've bought to make some bowls and boxes and see how well they sell. I think you would enjoy using them and the flexibility they offer in creating so many different shapes, sizes, and designs in wood projects. I learned about them through a series of videos posted by DavidHenry32 and he does an excellent job of describing the how and why of using Bird Mouth Bits and the types of projects that can be made. I immediately thought of you and your Etsy and Marketplace opportunities.
