I've never seen paper show so much with regard to the stretching and shrinking that has to be done to move the metal into its proper position, you illustrate it very effective between the layout and the actual fitment. I've never had the time to actually watch the sheet metal come to fit the space it's got to fill. You are a great teacher!

I have wanted to write but I don't want to take time out of your busy schedule having to read all this. Yet I feel a desire to tell you the effect it has on me watching you work. There is much I want to sat yet I feel at a loss for words but I will try. I have watch most of your videos but have no desire to flatter, but your varied talents such as making videos and teaching/instructing while you work on a project require more than most may think. Also your acquired knowledge in metal work blow me away. I have watched Wray Schelin's work and another fellow, I think his name is Lazy with great interest. And then there is Rat Rod BOB who I cannot help but love. As for myself, I have been making stuff out of wood and metal all my life and have a small reputation for creativity, but the A pillar skin you made, I would have just ended up with a steel potato chip. These inner pieces of the radiator cowling, in fact the whole thing cause me to remember how most of my adult life I have wanted to build an old classic car from scratch, with a long hood and graceful long fenders with huge headlights and a gorgeous radiator, but it has only been a fantasy. Yet now, looking at your work on the Model A (one of my first cars and a daily driver in college) and the Zephyr shows me what is truly possibleI. I had no idea that there was such a thing as an English wheel, shrinker/stretcher or a bead roller until my late 60's. Only a few years ago was I privileged to actually use those machines, but I feel so inept when I watch you work. Knowing what needs to happen next while making such complicated pieces leaves me in awe. Watching you, Wray or Lazy pop out such complicated pieces goes deep in me. Yet there is something about your way of teaching that is finally beginning to click for me. My first wife was Korean and you put me in mind of my own son so in that way I also feel a little bit of a bond. So I admire and envy your youth and advanced skills that you can make a living while still young doing something that I would have loved to do for a life occupation. And by the way it is nice to see someone in your line of work who doesn't loose it when a mistake is made, with a lot of beeps in the audio like the fellas over at Orange County Chopper. May you continue to prosper Karl, you're a great kid.

Im a Maintenance Plumber / Roofer about 30 years ago when I was enthusiastic about life, I was working for a 90year old retired sheetmetal worker who was in need of care, his house and garage were full of templates from decades of 19th & 20th century Architectural work. I tried contacting his carers to buy this amazing collection of work and tools,, a few weeks later to my horror, the house and contents had been demolished. Every time I make a template I think of that Man. Karl I hope you are archiving all the templates you make

The rolling an edge to meet up with another slightly rolled edge reminded me of the spare wheel well repair I made where I ended up having to do something pretty similar. With much less pretty looking results, but hey it’s under the car! Made me think, I’d be really interested to see how you would’ve tackled the same shape. Anyway, the grille design looks really cool, and the execution too!
