I am 75. soon to be 76 and I took a year of welding in high school. Only AC & DC arc welding and acetylene gas welding were taught as there were not any Mig welders back then. I had an old used Lincoln wire feed welder that only used flux core and had two settings, High & Low years later. I convinced my wife to buy me this welder for Christmas last year and she agreed, but said it had to remain in the box so she could wrap it and put it under the Christmas tree LOL. I have used the arc weld feature as that is what I am most comfortable with, and the flux core as I didn't have any gas till recently. I am just now learning how to Mig weld with gas. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?? Just wanted to say that your video is the best one I have watched on this welder. You did a very good job at explaining how everything works and how to start with the settings, and where you are used to welding. I watched every review I could find before deciding to purchase this welder, and yours is very informative without all the technical jargon. Thanks, Jim Light

This is handicraft as real. I always wanted to make these louvers in the 1970s Alfa Romeo Alfetta Hood to tribute the Alfa Romeo Tipo 158 from the 30s to 50s. The greatest of all race cars, used so many years.

I bought a filer years ago and haven't used it much. I like that yours can accept regular files. Mine requires a special file and they are expensive...... I have a Trumpf 901 reciprocating hammer.

1969 Chevrolet Panel I have a 3/8" gap at the bottom between the door and the front fender (Drivers Side)....up top only 1/8". I've moved the fender, & the door with minimal success, could I slot out the lower hinge to move the door forward some more? The threaded block in the pillar is moving but just not as far as I'd like it to??? Help The passenger side is perfect.

I like it! Great information on forming metal using MDF. I didn't think about more bolts down the X part of the form. Thank you for the Video Karl.

Hot damn! I could only dream of working with this type of crafts! I can’t wrap my head around how anyone would cough up money and buy items like this on a regular basis so it becomes sustainable instead of just buying one made of chinesium for a 10:th of what it would cost if I made it. Beautiful work there buddy! I’m happy I found your channel!

Cool vid and demonstration of making a 'trick' looking part with simple inexpensive tools. I also like how the cutting and grinding noise is muted out - no need to hear that.

Can this method of shrinking be used on a long stretched section? Had a bar run along the side of my minitruck bed and it made a long line that stretched the metal and it oil cans also. What can I do to fix this???

Hey Karl, this is Shannon Ott with Wennington Speed and Metal in Chambersburg Pa. I'm a good friend of Mark Lipinskis from Vintage Tin Customs in Saint Thomas Pennsylvania. He told me you were coming to Pennsylvania the first week of October. We really enjoy your videos and your creative mind. We're looking forward to meeting you and hanging out.

Still following love the build. You mentioned a dash mount shifter like in the Zepher, google Wlnsor fabrications in Battle Creek mi their are pictures of theirs. I used one on a 29 sedan in the early 80’s and mounted on the left cowl

Just a thought, but would it be better if it made much smaller tucks like a commercial shrinker stretcher so as the tucks could be much closer together to achieve the same amount of curve and therfore easier to to flatten the tucks?

Great work around for that big Nail head, also, even though it's not something nice to think about, it will also be very safe heaven forbid in a crash. Basically won't send the column straight back at you. Something I always consider in every build I've done. Great work.

Great planning and design with the steering. I Like the Fast Cut machine!! I do the same thing but with a straight edge and hand held plasma cutter. I also use MDF with different hole sizes. I also like your tool you designed for cutting holes! The Car is looking good can't wait for the fire wall design and creating/shaping.

A nice aspect of your design is crash safety. That jog with the two U joints will cause the column to collapse on itself and protect the driver in a front collision. Great job, Karl!

Your explanation of how you want the shifter to look made me think of the ones in automatic shifted Corvairs, just a tiny little T handle sticking out of the dashboard. That would be a discret feature! Always a great time watching you work, keep it up! Thanks for uploading! Greetings from Sweden
