Dip It Fantasy Film was the name of it, liquid plastic came in different colors. You had to make sure your wire design could be dipped in fully and pray that it didn't shrink when it dried . I used to make fairy wings with it. Now I use Fantasy Film plastic sheets and dry them with heat gun. Still have to be very careful about burning and shrinkage. I also make bugs with wet felting, wire and different silks, mohair, and Mylar. Great idea Steve with the Dragonfly, and who cares antenna's or not, I call my bug creations "Joy Bugs" because every time I look at them it brings a smile to my face. That is priceless in my book!

You are SO creative! I guess that's what makes you an artist, and what makes you and I so different...my imagination would never have looked at a screw and seen a dragonfly. (That's why I have to follow channels like yours to get ideas to "try" and tinker with)
Love this! May I offer a tip to make wire twist quite easily? I use hubby’s drill and open up the chuck a little, removing any drill bit that may be in it. Put your wire into the chuck and tighten. Hold the other end of the wire while slowly “drilling”. Open the chuck and remove your wire. will give a nice strand of twisted wire!

What a great idea, I love dragonflies! I can't wait to see what you do to it with resin. I've been inspired by dragonflies, too, recently, but I made them from polymer clay. Sounds awful that someone is stealing your content, I hope that sorts out quickly.
Love this. Can you make a butterfly 🦋 by any chance? They were mine and my mothers favorite. When she passed they were how i knew she was still with me. She was 42. Wasnt expected. I was 26 and it broke my heart and changed me. Butterflies help.
That is too adorable! Thank you for sharing , Steve. I am just asking out of curiosity, but could resin be used to make the wings solid & transparent. When I was younger & in art class our teacher showed us how to make different flowers out of wire & then we dipped it in this colored but transparent solution & it hardened like hard plastic. It was quite cool. That was back in the early eighties. Now I am showing my age. 😊 Hope you have a great day & weekend ! ❤

@@SteveMcDonaldCrafting I am going to look forward to seeing the results!! Just to jar my memory, do you know what it's called? I was talking to my granddaughter how we did that in art class. ( She's 13 years old) . What we did in art classes vs what they do now is very disappointing. We did things that truly taught creativity with in us but nowadays they are not taught that. Sad really. I love both of your channels! I just don't understand why there are so many dishonest people out there. I just had my bank card hacked and and almost a thousand dollars stolen from me. I am disabled and living on $970 per month. My rent is $500...not including utilities. And because I don't have any money to pay the rent, I am being evicted. I have to have a yard sale and sell what I can in 15 days, and then my two dogs and I will be homeless because I won't be able to have enough money to rent somewhere else. Please accept my apologies...I won't be able to continue being a member of your channel any more.☹️ I'm going to miss you. I won't even have a cell phone to watch on. I wish you every success and I hope that woman will lose all credibility with any of her followers. It's good that most people are not like that and give credit for ideas where it's due.
