Thanks so much for this..God bless you. Pls I would like to know..wat if I don't want the back seam? Can I cut both front n back the same, since there's no zipper or fastener? Thanks
@GraceyStitches
@GraceyStitches 2 года назад
Of course! You can cut the back and front the same way. I had a back seam because of the way I folded it (a triangle form).

Hello tutor,please anyone prefers making the one with lace yoke on your thumbnail,do we have to go through this same process you used or it has a different approach? 2. Was the lace yoke sewn on the upper part or it was sewn the normal way tokes are inserted. Thanks very much for the tutorials
@GraceyStitches
@GraceyStitches 2 года назад
Hi This doesn’t look like our usual sew-in yoke.I think it was sewn separately and placed on top of the Ankara. If I was to recreate it, I’d use the same method. Cut the lace the same way but stop around the bust line (same for the back) so that it wouldn’t distort the flare of the dress which started around the bust area downwards. For the arm area, stop at the sleeve opening too. As for the neckline, if you use the same dimension, there’ll be no need for facing, just use both to turn each other. And if you make the neckline of the inner fabric wider as in the picture, you’ll have to finish both necklines separately. In this case, when you’re done, you can then hand-stitch the lace to the inner fabric if you want it to be permanently attached and if you want it to be detachable, don’t sew them together, just wear it on top. So that you can wear it with other clothes. If there’s a need, add a fastener. Cheers✌️

Beautiful tutorial,how many meters of fabric will I use for long gown
@GraceyStitches
@GraceyStitches 2 года назад
Hello By long gown, I assume ankle length, right? so, if your fabric is by 60", 4 meters should be okay if your fabric is by 45", 4.5m - 5m should be okay (because you'll have to join more fabric at the hem Either way, you'll have to cut the front and back separately and not fold into 4 like I demonstrated here.

@GraceyStitches
@GraceyStitches 2 года назад
Hello Measure your round arm and divide it by 2 Whatever you get, measure it down Find the mid-point Measure 0.5” to the left and right of the mid-point Construct an oval shape That becomes your armhole

@GraceyStitches
@GraceyStitches 2 года назад
@@user-is4rg2cf8s to get the sleeve? Yes, you can use the same method But for a floor length, you should cut the front and back separately Fold each one in a triangular form You’ll need about 4 yards of Ankara

Sorry about that. I used an available fabric. You can watch it again and then draft yours along with me Ensure you follow it step by step before you cut your fabric. Don’t worry, you’ll get your desired result.

Why are you folding into a triangle after folding into 2 Instead of folding into 4 direct
@GraceyStitches
@GraceyStitches 2 года назад
The intention wasn’t a full circle dress which is 360 degrees but a half circle dress 180 degrees Check this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JBJUOCeha88.html And this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JWBU47giIk0.html You’ll not get an adult’s dress length with 360 except you don’t mind joining several fabrics. With 180, it is better Usually, 360 readily caters for skirt length, top length or kids dress lengths Cheers
