Making a Shift dress can be simple yet so easy to get wrong. In today's video tutorial I show you how i make a perfect size 20 Tunic dress without zip!
For this tutorial you will need 2-3 yards ankara or africanprints fabric and 1/4 matching plain fabric. For mine I used crepe for the facing.
To start fold your 2 yards Into 4. Divide the shoulder measurements into 2 . bust, waist and hip into 4. The width of the bottom of the dress should be the same as the hip measurement.
To be wearable without zip add 1/4 or half inch to measurements before adding the seam allowance depending on your size.
For a fabric with stretch use exact measurements.
To cut the facing make it at least 14 inches long and after adding the gumstay fold the sides with iron up to 0.5 inches.
