New subscriber to your wonderful channel😊 As a beginner, I have a few questions. If you used a woven (100% cotton) fabric for this video, did you wash it first? If not, how does one allow for the 5% shrinkage after washing? How would a rayon fabric change the fit/flow of the dress? Thank you 💔
Welcome to the family! ❤️🎉; I’m glad to have you on board. Yes it’s recommended to prewash but then again I tend to wash after wear because the shrinkage is barely noticeable considering I add a total allowance of 2” (0.5” while it’s on fold). With Rayon, it’s difficult to say as the particular fabric would determine the outcome. Some rayon fabrics take on properties of cotton more than others and some take on properties of silk more than others; this will have to be address on a case by case basis
This is a beautiful dress. Thanks for sharing😘. Since this is a shift dress and needs a lot of ease, exactly how many inches more do I need to add to get the kind of ease you have. For instance if my hip is 38" I doubt that 0.5" will give me the ease you have. Were there additional inches you added in your calculation prior to marking? I hope my question is clear. Thank you😊

For me I went with 0.5” to 0.75” inches... you have to remember that the fabric is folded into 4 so you’ll have a total ease of 2” of 3” at each circumference measurement . However if you would like some more space. You could go up to 0.75” or even 1” however I don’t advice more than an inch. I hope this helps. ❤️

I turned on language so they can catch words I don’t understand but that didn’t work.vi do wish you the best for your channel. I just couldn’t support something that I cannot understand ☺️
