I am most impressed. Well described, easy to see what you did there. The idea of using a heat lamp was novel. The PC fan too. For a TIMER you could easily plug in a domestic timer to the wall power socket and run from that, and set it to say 8 hours or more. When you think a bought-in dehydrator is hundreds of dollars, this makes you see how much profit they're making on those units. A thermostatic control would be a simple add-on really. Good job!
Excellent, I love the way you thought this out. Do not worry about the metal, it does not get hot enough in there to transfer anything onto the foods. It would have to get upwards towards 150 degrees and this clearly is not that hot. I just bought a dehydrator and to think I could have made this for me. I have some inventor/tinkerer in me also keep this up you will be famous one day. lol...Thanks for the video, I will check your other ones too.
gorilla tape is strong but its so thick it almost dosent have enough glue and dosent conform around things ive had it peal off in humidity or sun. It is about 3x thicker than duct tape so it is stronger but i perfer duct because of how it conforms around things
My concern would be what kind of metals are in the trays you're using. These are not made for food so they could easily have metals you don't want in your food in them.
