One small error: Vertices are NOT the "triangles and squares", those are the faces. Vertices are 3D-Coordinates describing a specific point, and groups of 3 or more vertices make up faces.
i just deleted the mesh of Star wolf and it just did the skeleton for me I swear the skeleton just randomly teloperted PERFECTLY to vector am I lucky? is this Somthing new in blender?
Probably a noob question: Is it possible to just weight paint the bones that a ragdoll already has? or do you have to replace it with the bones of a player model? For those wondering, here's the ragdoll I'm trying to make into a player model: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=503870081
So i tried skinning my ragdoll with his new playermodel skeleton, but an error message appeared and when i tried moving the mesh with the skeleton, only the skeleton moved, instead of both. Does mesh detail affect anything?
+Timbleweebs Hey how exactly do i just change the color of it. Im trying to edit a model and all i wanna do is change some of the colors so how do i go about doing that
What if the the model is made out of 3 parts (Body, robe, head)? Also after the automatic weighting, the bones were out of the body floating somewhere, but all 3 parts were together like they should be, what should i do?
im stuck at the part where i have to connect the skeleton to the actual model because my charakter has differant clothing which are switchable in gmod any suggestions?
Somehow, in both posing mode AND object mode, I somehow have TWO base skeletons. There is only one in edit mode. Deleting one of the different skeletons in object and/or posing mode, deletes both. How do I fix this?
duude this is good, but i need help, i got a npc and playermodel of Riddle, and i need help cus the faceposer doesnt work on him, he doesnt have facial moves, what can i do?
Because it would be a major pain in the ass to rename every bone "ValveBiped_BipedBone_**#" or whatever the sort. And even if you go through that, you'd still have to weight paint.
Asking the people in the comment section since TW can't help, i deleted that attachment bone at 10:00 and undid so much i cant undo to before I deleted it. Is there a way to get it back to still have it work as its function??
Tiny, and pinky gmod (ragdools, pm, snpc, vj base and maps diana) (mediafire.com) can you make tiny and pinky on gmod (made playdoh by clay mixer) can you make it pleaseeeeeee?
I attached the skeleton to the mesh but no matter what, when i try to move the skeleton, only the skeleton moves and the mesh does't. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!

Super Trini Gamer I've actually never had that error before. (Maybe, one time when I started out?) But usually it's a problem with your topology. To put something back, you have to select both of the objects and do Alt+J. It added everything selected to the active object.
Oh shit, It's too late. I've been soo pissed I'm not able to get back on blender without trembling. Thank you for this tip. If I ever attempt this again, This'll help alot.
Sorry for replying so late, but as I'm quite experienced with Blender, you just need to scale them down. Right click the bones, and press "s", then you should be able to scale them down. EDIT: Please do make sure you're in "Object Mode" when you're scaling the bones, but when you want to make actual edits to the bones, and change their position, put it into "Edit Mode."
Oh thanks but I've resolved the problem, I copied files from Garry's mod folder and I pasted them in ''bin'' folder of Half Life 2 folder I had created !
