How to make a Guitar Case (out of reclaimed wood)

I was asked to make an acoustic recycled box 3 string guitar. Now that it was almost ready I had to make sure that the postage trip to the USA will go without damaging the "Arch-top" guitar. Just a carton box seemed out of the question so I just started to make a box out of reclaimed wood... it ended up into a proper guitar case!

Ha... 85 cents for the hinges, 85 cents for the "locks" and 1,25 for 2 handles. Yes, my friend, even the jars at the not just sawdust workshop get empty sometimes...

Beautiful! My brother plays guitar and has more then 10 guitars. I'm not going to tell him i saw your video or else i'm making guitar cases for the next 3 months😂😂😂

Lovely work! Well worth watching and listening a second time 😉 Who is the guitarist in the first part? The style sounds familiar. I hope the new owner appreciates the extra mile you went for them in making the box and guitar. 👍

Look until the part where "padding" is put in. Only protection at the points where guitar touches the case. (at 4 points). Padding the whole case would just be a waste of material.

I'm slowly getting there. Although I already made a serious 6-string, now in the hands of Canadian Singer/songwriter Robert Burton Hubele. (He came to Portugal to collect it! But yes... in the end (and slowly learning bit by bit) a proper acoustic 6 string (or 12 string) should be the result of the journey!

Nice solid build. Gonna try this w some modifications. Never seen a case not lined in felt. Gonna have to find how that works. Thanks for the idea.

@@NotJustSawdust Thanks - that first track in particular - too good for the RU-vid library! lol - fantastic case you can just imagine the character a case like that will collect over the years, loved the three string also - had a very medieval sound, nice!
