Karl, I found a solid rubber caster wheel at harbor freight which was 6" and it really works better than the rubber band. Yes it takes a few minutes to change the wheel over but, it takes the frustration out of the rubber band always going off to a side and having to constantly having to realign it ! Looks great keep up the great videos !

yes i agree we don't have a Harbor Freight but have one called A MANS TOY SHOP same thing but from what i have Hurd say you can get way more from yours than the one we have 6 inch by 2 1/2 inch wide great for rolling the bends in the tin

I love the evolution saws. I have their hand circular saw and love how easy it cuts metal and especially how little of a mess it makes! I am planning on purchasing their bench chop saw as soon as I get my new shop finished. My old abrasive chop saws would sling crap everywhere in the shop. There would be abrasive grit and metal dust on the other side of my old shop. This will help sooo much with clean up and it cuts so much faster. And the metal doesn't get as hot as it did with the old abrasive chop saw which was basically grinding the metal. This comment is a year past when you actually got the saw amd I bet you're loving it!

This is so scientific as compared to the way young (unskilled) guys did it in 1968--the only hood I ever made was done by bending the flat sheet over gas welding bottles. we just bent the hell out of it by hand, trimmed with hand shears til we got it looking good. I bet that hood is still on that car today! Same guy still owns it!

We used to put them on custom built 1930s Mahogany Gentleman's Racers they have always been the classic Lake Rod Rat rod so to speak of the Boat world. We built them all from scratch from hand drawn designs to hand drawn patterns and frames. They were built with a classic vintage look sometimes with a steam punk and or Art Deco twist. They always looked so damn sweet. This Rod will so killer with that Duval windshield frame for sure. It's the perfect touch

Man, you make great videos. Perfect pace and insights as you go. Really appreciate you taking the time to do these so well. I need to do a hood in the upcoming future so this was killer! Thank you!

Your hood turned out beautiful, nice job young man. It made up for the frustration we all went through W/U on the zepher panel. 😯

Just watched this video and saw the issues with the rubber band on your bead roller. I saw you flick your finger between the rubber and the wheel to put it back on course. Idea: Add a couple of guides, one on each side (to account for the direction changes) to do the same thing as your finger, guide the rubber back to the centre of the wheel. Could put them on plastic bushings and at the top so they stay out of the way, hope that makes sense. Nice work as always.

I personally prefer the longer format vids. I'm sure they are a lot more work, but a guy really does learn a lot from them!!
