What a brilliant idea! I had to try it out straight away while your video was still playing. I only did one thing differently. When I folded the journal, I didn't make one crease in the centre. Instead, I made two parallel creases, also sewing twice - creating a sort of spine of about 3/4 inch. This meant I didn't have to tear out any pages, as the journal can be thicker this way.

New subscriber here! 😊 Two years ago, I created a nature journal for my 3 year old grandson to take along on our nature walks. I kept the handles in their original position, folding up along the bottom to create pockets for various leaves he would find. I’m loving your concertina design relocating the handles and will be making one like this for my 8 year old grandson! ❤😊

This is brilliant Meg! To be able to make one journal, including the pages is a genius 💡 idea. I actually found a fairly large bag too. I am going to make it tomorrow. I thought where you reattached the handles, would also be a natural place for a pocket. It looks like, I could cut into the bag, at the angle that is already there. Now I am looking forward to be getting the prompts😃👩🏻‍🎨🦉
