Damn, I foolishly bought a video course that promised to teach how to correctly process audio for video, but they only explained basic stuff. In this 5 minute video I got a lot more information and value, and everything's very well explained. Thank you so much!

ABSOLUTELY what I needed! Thank you so much for showing your expertise on this matter. I’m going to follow your technique here and I have no doubts that you will save me tons of time that I’d otherwise spend on trial and error through EQ’ing on my own! Cheers!!

This very interesting and answers a lot of my questions. I have wondered about how they do this in films. I struggle with audio dialog in my RU-vid videos. I know what I want it to sound like but getting there is a battle. This video will help. Thank you!

Thanks for the tutorial! It was super helpful and the different comparisons throughout the video really emphasized what you were doing and I really appreciated that. It's crazy that you were able to make the lab sound that similar to the boom. I'd love to see your workflow for outdoor audio processing

I didn't know lav sounds so bad when you compare them side by side to a shotgun microphone. and the thing you did there in the EQ is like magic! wow thank you for the amazing information!

This video is extremely helpful, thank you so much! I know it'll take me a while to get the hang of it, but your tip of isolating the "boxy" and other sounds is helping me a lot. I'm a newb with this, and I feel a little less like I'm just randomly making adjustments and seeing what works now. Thanks again!

Just bought a $200 TASCAM DR10L lav recorder and mic... of course as soon as I do, all my recommendations are videos about how boom and shotgun mics are way better. I don’t disagree! That brightness made me pretty regretful. But omg, Alex! This video has been so helpful in calming my nerves. Thank you! (Also really want fabfilter now!). Great, fast, simple explanation and demonstration. I wish you went into a bit more detail about those unpleasant frequencies because I’m not too sure what to listen for, but thank you so much!!

Great vid the live demonstration was really good. Also love the tip about the short reverb people usually talk about EQ but not so much about that. Gonna try it for a test I just did for a wireless dual lav system. 👍

Timely video! Recently received the new Rode Lavalier Go and the mic has a lot of "boxy" mid-range with little-to-no low/high end. EQ'ing helps fix that, but what I never thought of adding was the touch of reverb you mentioned. Will def give that a try.

Thanks -- that all made sense. I had to record videos for work during lockdown and my audio really sucked! For the next batch my budget plan is to record audio separately with a lav and an old Zoom H2n, , gently process it with these suggestions (in Reaper as my DAW which has usable EQ, Comp, and reverb (not sure about DeEsser)), and synch the sound back to the video in the free version of Resolve.
