This is way cool. I added this to my cigar noise box! I utilized the piezo mic inside the box and the little canister mic on the top of the box! Thanks for the help! Teach a man to fish...

I need to get my act together and build one of these. I've got the ISD1820 sitting in a cupboard. It's such a cool project.

Looks great! I guess one could use a minijack in instead of the microphone, and another one instead of the speaker?

Yes you definitely could. But you might need to add some resistors to get the levels correct. Check the link in the video description. It links to a site that has a schematic that shows how to do that exact thing.

Hi there. Is there a way to replace the small speaker with an output channel for 1/4 cable Line purpose?
@weidnermusic
@weidnermusic Год назад
Pretty sure you can put a female jack embase in there instead :o there is an old saying that goes : if there is a wat for a speaker, there is a way for an output line.

I really enjoy building your projects Mike.I have been using this board in several projects. Does anyone have any experience wiring up the "feed through" option? I need help. Is there a simple way to listen to the input while the loop is playing

I haven’t actually used the Feed Through but THINK all you do is connect pin 12 to positive voltage. Check out the link in description for site I found my info at.

Hey man. I know you tried to answer this question in comments and had a vague idea and a pointed them to a link regarding a question about the feed through. So funny thing... i came across that link before reading that comment and felt it was more about using it as a synth and was schematics i dont understand. Ive looked all on other videos even comments for a concrete answer on how to get it to work and all i come across is diagrams i dont understand and a bunch of "maybes" or people telling me to connect both pins on the spot labelled ft. That doesnt work. So i need someone smarter, more knowledgeable than me to please give me a concrete answer. How do i get the feed through work? Like what pins? Sorry if im coming across a little mean. I am frustrated but not at you just that a million people mess with these and not one person can give me a simple answer of "connect this and this" and it work. One video told me to connect all my switches to ground instead of voltage so that was some trouble shooting that annoyed me. I just wanna turn this into a pedal and have had like 25 of theae boards for six months and always work on them, get everything to work but feed through, put them in a drawer and tell myself "go back to it when calm". At this point im about to toss them though 😂😅. If you cant help thats cool man. This was just a last ditch effort before i give it up permanently and either sell these to someone or throw them away. Like the crazy thing to me is a learned how to use a mini buck converter to pedal these specifically but cant get it to do one of the most important things i need it to do as a guitar looper. It would be hella awkward using this at a show and there is no music for 2 bars because it goes dead silent recording.

I think you might be confused. There is no EASY way around the silent recording issue. The Feedthrough function just allows the mic to be directly heard through the speaker. All you do if connect the two "FT" pins together and talk into the mic. But it doesn't allow to also record while engaged. All it does is basically turns it into a little audio amplifier which IMO is not super helpful. With mine the speaker and mic are close so it is almost instant feedback. I read somewhere that if you adjust the speed while audio passing through it acts as somewhat of a lowpass filter but I can't really test that because mine has so much feedback.

Hello, I also have this sampler, unfortunately at the beginning of each recording there is always a "cracking/clicking" that I didn't hear on your recordings. Did you consciously do something to stop the cracking? thanks in advance Regards
@SISKworks
@SISKworks 2 года назад
No I didn’t do anything to remove that. I do hear a slight click but it’s not very loud. Maybe it’s just not coming through on the video.

do u know where to connect the wires for the batteries?
@SISKworks

Yes. VCC pin is positive and GND pin is negative.

Is it possible to have the record function activated with a momentary switch and, upon release, immediately start the loop?
@SISKworks
@SISKworks 3 года назад
Yes I think it would be possible with a “momentary DPDT button with 2NO-2NC.” DPDT = Double Pole Double Throw which means there are two sets of wires and each can switched in 2 directions. 2NC = means there are 2 Normally Closed connections points. 2NO = means there are 2 Normally Open connection points. So think if it as two switches in one. Depending on how you make your connections to the switch you can make it so when you press it records and when you release it would engage the play. Sorry if that doesn’t make sense but that is how I would try to do it.
@Eau1983
@Eau1983 3 года назад
@@SISKworks Makes perfect sense, Mike. Thank you for taking the time to offer your expertise. The DPDT (2NO-2NC) would, essentially, Allow for the record function to be activated on the Open Cycle of the switch whilst activating the Playback Loop function upon release of the switch (Close Cycle). Depending on chip selection, Bulk Erase and Reverse Playback would be great. My intention would be to make a 4-Track Looper with the Momentary Rec switch acting like a tape-splice that commences looping immediately. Fidelity/Perfect Looping be damned. Thanks again!

wait there's no way to make it have mic input/line out?
@socialistsuccubus822
@socialistsuccubus822 Год назад
I'm reading more about it. You should try prototyping one with an LM386 on the output and let me know how it sounds. o.o I'm assuming I could also make that output line level too? Maybe even use this in a fuzz pedal o.o
@SISKworks

@@socialistsuccubus822 check out this site if interested in building your own. Also don’t built the voltage regulator that I built in the video. Much easier to just use (2) AA batteries instead. bastl-instruments.com/support/tutorials/omsynth-project-3
