Welcome to my channel, where I explore the intersection of technology and music through the creation of unique electronic sound devices. My name is Mike Sisk, and I am a sound enthusiast who enjoys experimenting with different devices and techniques to produce one-of-a-kind instruments. From modular synthesizers to crazy circuit bent monsters, I strive to push the boundaries of what's possible in the world of DIY electronics. Follow my journey as I share my builds, experiments, and performances with you.
Would it work to keep all circuits connected as they are, BUT have a second RCA PAIR connected directly to the board where you resoldered the GND GND WHITED RED ? and have those new cables as a second PHONO OUT ?
I’m not too sure about this. I would need to change quite a bit a lot to make it worth my time. It was a lot of work. But that’s why I made the video, so people could do it themselves.
Excellent video! Been wanting to build a case like that for a while. What are those hinges called? Looks cooler than the usual lift-off hinges I see in eurorack cases
Pulled out an old Edirol PCR-M80 after a number of years of sitting and had a few dead keys. This tutorial brought it right back to the land of the living. Thanks!
Love it. By any luck, is there any tutorial about how to do it you'd sell. I feel like it'd be even funnier to do it yourself and know how to adapt it than just buy it as-is
have you considered putting dust covers on these faders? i got some vintage faders for a project of mine and i'm thinking of what material to use to protect them.
Thank so much. I appreciate that. Be sure to also check out this video where I added gate inputs to the same drum machine. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ApLbDcPe9No.htmlsi=tR9_OBLYpJ4IqPBL
I don’t really remember how the Speak and Spell/Math work. Probably not. This was kinda different because it triggers on the release. You should try an optocoupler. I’ll link a little diagram I made. Super simple. Just (1) resistor and (1) optocoupler IC. An optocoupler is basically a switch that is controlled by a LED. They are very useful for circuit bending. imgur.com/a/vzgxrL8
Did that. Didn’t work. Conductivity was gone. This definitely works in a pinch but not a long term fix. Thanks for watching and commenting even if you are wrong. 🙊
It is slightly over 96hp wide. I should have made it exactly 96 but wasn't thinking and cut the rails for max width that would fit in the case. I got the side rails from Pulp Logic (look for him on Etsy) and they helped this build so much. I've tried making my own side rails before for another case and its so hard to get all the holes EXACT. The hinges are marked "LAMP lt SUS304" on them but it looks like they are also sold by Sugatsune Industries. you can find a few different options if you search for "sugatsune quick release hinge."
@@SISKworks That is exactly what I am looking for! I am thinking about going with Intellijel 7u and seems not many options for side cheek for 7u (maybe the reason of different preference of layout, top, and middle). Sugatsune quick release hinge is also intresting! It is time to find a Halliburton zero case! It was really helpful for ideation for building a case :)
Hi Mike, thanks for this video! My GM suddenly doesn't turn on anymore. I wasn't even using it. It was under the current socket like all the other rack synths. I'm not much expert could it be just the power fuse?
my dd6 is also heavily modded with gate inputs for the pads, im surprised you didnt add the cv input for the pitch mod. also, alternatively , you can use a hex inverter to flip the gate signal
Yeah I still may a vactrol for CV pitch control. I’m just breaking everything up into separate videos. I’ve also done the hex inverter technique on my DD-5. But wanted to try it this way for a change.
@@SISKworks Using this technique to flip the trigger signal, or just plain old vactrol circuits, i’ve added trigger inputs to all my toys with pads/keys. It’s pretty nice to have everything in sync!
