You can use your own key rings, but I can confirm we still have some for sale on our website: www.beadaholique.com/wsearch/result/?type_id=&q=Key%20Rings Thank you.
Thank you so much! we needed a quick and easy key chain project and this was awesome. we used the round gold and brown shoe strings and they worked great!!
Thank you Kat, my sister did this many moons ago in girl scouts with a plastic flat line and I think she called them scobies, any way this was fun to learn.
So pleased you did this video. I've seen it done with ribbon on tv but it wasn't ever clear when threading back thru loops. Your demo is so clear & I can see exactly how to do it now. Thank you. Q. When burning ends, I notice the core colour shows through, is there any way to avoid this? Perhaps an alcohol pen or similar? I also wonder if a tiny bit of glue would make sure it won't come lose? Brilliant technique, great for "man presents"! Tfs. C😊
inspiredcaroline24 Thank you so much for your kind words! To answer your question, you can also trim the ends and then take your scissors or thin cord snips and cut out the inner white threads a bit so that when you burn the cord to seal it you will only see the colored portion. It is possible but it might be a little tricky at first. You can try using glue, just remember that the cord may absorb some of the glue and discolor the cord. I would try E6000 if you want to go the glue route.
OMG, we used to do these when I was a kid! We used plastic string called "Lanyard". I never knew how to start making the box. My favorites were the Cobra and Chinese Staircase :D
