In this video il be showing you how to make a Steel Glue Pulling Tower from Lengths of tubing to basic design! For the muscle il be fitting a 4 Ton hydraulic ram to push a swinging pulling arm…….

Thank you London Carnaval for your kind words. Again going back to your previous comment regards the music I think certain videos work with music and others don’t and I’ve taken all comments on board. The part 2 will be similar but il be turning it down a little bit! The pulling tower had been on my mind for a long time so it was great to finally build it and share it with everyone. I've a fiat 500 to do tomorrow that needs heavy glue pulls - I.E tower required ASAP as it is beyond the scope of hand pulling. Being lazy/always wanting the "minimum viable" solution that avoids "Effort" I worked out that a big RSJ that holds the roof up makes a perfect "pull tower" - being PDR, the vehicles are generally mobile - so they'll get "mobilled" to the right spot in relation to the existing RSJ - the puller will pull off that. Beyond that, all I need is a puller (doddle to make if you keep it simple) - the "minimum viable" on those is a turnbuckle with some light welding/some chain/hooks - which ironically is super-accurate in terms of force exerted/feedback/feel. Just as "another way" if someone didn't fancy spending ages making one. You probably have one staring you in the face if you look. :-)

Martin Congratulations on a well-done job! It wasn't that long ago that I used to do a lot of welding. I built all of my own workout equipment. How much did you spend on the welder, tools, and metal, by the way? How many hours have you put into building your tower.

Hey Clark thanks for your comment, yes I use to be a panel beater so didn’t take me long to get back Into MIG welding. The Welder was about £350, the grinders etc I had already but they are about £100 each and the STEEEEL (always here you say that!) cost around £60 Without all the camera work and faffing I could remake one in a day. The one in the video including the film work took about 30- 40 hrs and the editing took about 30 hours! I was originally going to make a much simpler L shape tower and use rachet straps but I HATE the idea of using a strap to tug the dent out, all that in necessary wobbling of the strap will pull on the tab and also you can’t watch the tab pull the damage out properly So I incorporated a ram to do all the work while I’m away from the tower and can monitor what I’m pulling with minimal effort to pull the damage out I use to use a air fed hydraulic ram set up when I was panel beating with anchor points in the floor etc so it was a familiar set up. I’m not interested in making money from this tower, it was fun to make and if it helps anyone to make their own then that’s great! The welder I bought will come in handy for sure and I have a few more additions for the tower set up which will be along shortly. Hahahaha well my wife saw it in the shop and thought she’d scare me with it in the dining room, since then it’s been at the workshop. I use to move it around the shop and mess with peoples heads but it likes it on the towel dispenser. It’s a foam replica, doesn’t need feeding or anything! Thanks for watching Martin

Hi Gjvdspam thanks for your comment, it’s Swisstrax “ribtrax” tiles they are super strong and have holes in them so you can hoover them dust up and if you have a wet car or spill any liquids the floor (tile surface) doesn’t stay wet Really good but quite expensive at around £6 a tile 😱

That last pin bolt looks skinny. But, I always over engineer things.

I think it’s either 12mm or 16mm bar, but it’s a short length between the triangle supports so should be well matched, I think if anything it would start bending the swinging arm first. But if it does happen to hit it hard il definitely inspect all areas before I use it again. Good point though thanks for bringing it up

Thanks for your great comment! I never noticed I was talking different sizes! It’s hard enough for me to even explain what I’m doing sometimes! The Shorts thing isn’t my most favourite part of my channel. But as my videos take 50-70hours to edit my channel isn’t very active so the shorts really help keep the channel afloat. I’m not a fan of TikTok I don’t get it, and RU-vid following has meant us creators have to adjust our style a bit. Shorts do add quite a lot of extra watch time and interest to my channel which is good Anyways I really appreciate your kind comment! Not like the usual “your a tip off” and “you dented it your a con man” comments I usually get lol Thanks Martin

@@dentremover01 not sure if I get that very last paragraph word barrier. I'm a straightforward kind of person I like to see how people do their work. I've done body work so long and I'm also a machinist I was kind of wondering where you got your background and fabrication most body men can't fabricate at least not the ones I know. Most of them can't machine parts either like me.
