🖊 tattoo apprentice here. Just wanna help out and say that the "nipple" (also called a grommet) is usually put onto the needle eye before you put it on the machine. There's is an "up" and "down" to the needle, and the grommet helps you figure that out once you're assembling. If you're tattooing with a ballpoint pen, it might help to get into this habit before you get to needles and ink! I heard about the lined notebook trick as well! I've started doing that and it's really helpful. Great video as always :)
I think it's a regional thing people call them different things, I always knew them as Grommets and there was 2 styles of them doughnut and tophat but I've heard them called nipples rubbers cushions gaskets lol It's just a tiny part but pretty essential I've seen allkinds of diy things like grip tape to cardboard too lol if it gets the job done!!
I'm currently working on a Tattoo Portfolio (for an apprenticeship) and this past weekend I rigged one together using TikTok videos. So It's great to see you talk and show a different (yet similar) method to this machine! Great and super informative video! Thabk you Celle! 🖤🖋️
I believe the reason as to why the machine was so heavy was that the mas wireless power supply is meant for a rotary-pen style machine, and not a traditional rotary style machine so the balance is thrown off on this specific machine with the huge power supply on the back of your hand
Normally I wait until I have finished the video before commenting. But I am 40 seconds in. And I always get clowned for having low battery on my phone in screenshots. I appreciate the solidarity lol
🖊 i use to epoxy pen tube into disposable grip for the clienrs to fill out the release forms with. Lol. This is a cool concept, and brought back some fun memories. Great video per usual.
My first tattoo machine was actually built from a ballpoint pen and a handheld ventilator... It worked shockingly well, and had even 3 different speed settings ! The tattoos came out shitty, but a good shitty.
This is such a great idea for people to "tattoo" at home. I could totally test out designs and decide if I like what was "tattooed" on. I think Lauren from @treacletatts would approve especially since you're wearing gloves the whole time
