Some finer points: You could mention that the drilled holes need to be centered on the front of the blade’s tooth (as you did). If they’re behind or in front of the tooth, the blade will want to track outside or inside the true circle. Also, on mine I added an adjustable bolt on the stop block for fine adjustment for different blades so alignment as to my first comment is possible.

Hey Alex, I am glad to see your growth on youtube, I still remember binging all of your content back at 16k subscribers. I would love to see a faq video from you about your origin, design process or anything related to your making process. You've been such a fresh breath of air in the maker community and many of your fans would like to know more about you. Just a though. Keep up the stellar work!

And if you do want to use it for commercial purposes, you can probably get the (free) startup license as long as you are doing less than 100k revenue / year (at which point paying the $495 license is probably worth the additional features anyway.). I think Fusion's main advantage is that you can do everything parametric, so it's easy to change almost anything at any point of your design / modeling process, vs. editing meshes can get pretty painful if your topology is complicated.

HowTo videos are always helpful. A thought for one: Building the storage drawers was the first time I ever used a plane joiner. Needless to say, I had a devil of a time figuring out how/where to mark and cut everything with the joiner. (I have several external panels with biscuit holes in them. ;) ) A HowTo on using this particular tool would be very nice.

Great and simple design! Love it! But i do not like the idea of locking myself into 4 cm increments. What about a sliding center pin? In that way you can choose a custom diameter each time.

If you add a second slot for the bandsaw blade 1cm far from the other slot, you automatically have 1cm increments for the radius, depending on which slot you are using.
@sh06un1s
@sh06un1s 3 года назад
Might be easier to drill more holes for those 1cm increments, because of the guide he glued on the bottom. Moving to the second blade slot would mean it's not aligned anymore. But if one could figure that bit out, that's a pretty good idea.

@davidjones2999

You should have made the pin adjustable, something like a T-slot, so you can slide it where ever you want and adjust the size infinitely. You could probably print a T clamp with the hole for a pin and splits in the plastic with some short machine screws with 90 degree head so when you tighten them they spread the clamp against the sides and locks it in place.

Well, if you used the exact same you'd cut a notch out it from cutting two angles at the same place. But the same kind of jig should work fine at a tilted table 👍

do you know a way to cut circle in a wood piece? i dont have a rouder for this only jigsaw table saw and a small bandsaw
@iaretight
@iaretight 3 года назад
Router is the way to go. I’ve done it by replacing the plastic shoe on the bottom with a 1/2” piece of plywood, something just as wide as the base but longer than the radius by 6” or so. You’ll have to drill pilot holes and counterbore them. From there you flip the router upside down and measure the radius and drill a 1/8” hole. Then mark the center on your board and drill a 1/8” hole. Then line up the holes and stick the drill bit in as a pivot. It also helps to have a sacrificial piece of plywood underneath and clamped/fastened because as you cut the circle if the center piece being cut out starts to move the cut will not be good on the outside piece. I use a plunger router for this and I take a small amount each pass. I’ve tried a circle cutting tool on a jig saw but it never came close to how clean the router does, square edges and just perfect
@thomaskletzl6493

Cool. To avoid making a hole in the board you're cutting couldn't you just make a smaller/thin board with a hole in it for det pin and glue it to the board you're cutting with a glue gun? Or use double sided tape?
