How to Make a Polymer Clay Checkerboard Pattern for Earring Making / DIY / Beginner Technique

Hello polymer people! Today I want to show you how to make a really simple checkerboard pattern with polymer clay.
If you have seen my Instagram feed - you'll see that I quite often use the checkerboard technique when I make my jewellery.
You don't need any fancy tools for this tutorial - just a blade (rigid is preferred!) and your polymer clay!
I hope you enjoy and find this useful!

Absolutely! I have a tutorial scheduled for next week that shows the Blend technique- and I’m also working on a tutorial that is just blends!

I have only used air dry clay mostly. Does Polymer clay harden out or dry out? Co you ever make slabs ahead of time and store them pre cutting? How do you store all of those random offcuts? I’m enjoying these videos. Thanks for sharing.

Wow!! Brilliant and clear tutorial as always and incredible finished results- the skinner blend ones really popped!👏👏👏 Where did you get the handles for your cutting blades? I'm desperately in need of some so I can stop slicing my fingers!! Thanks and don't stop creating!👏👏💜

Thanks so much! 😊 my blade is from the old Sculpey Super Slicer set. The set is slightly different now - but they still have handles. :) *I still slice my fingers even with handles 🤣
