I finally got my hands on a MIR-1B, made a reverse globular lens and attached it to my a6000. It's really fun. However, it is difficult to get anything sharp in the middle (even with the help of focus peaking) and you will find you need to physically distance yourself some more from the subject that you normally would for a lens of this focal length.
It's really hard to focus something sharp in the center below F/4. The main issue is that you have to point an object really far away (like 20 meters). +Mathieu Stern have you managed to focus sharp and open below this limit ? (more we close the aperture more we can focus close, but as you said, the effect fade away)
I got one in very good conditions just today. I've mount it in my Olympus pen-f with an adaptor, and all ok...!!! Now, i've planned to get an sony ef adaptor for my A7IV to try it..!!! Thanks for the tutorial. :)
Hello it will only work with the ones with a very simple front lens removal option, because the ones with a lot of different elements will make the mounting back very difficult
Does not work with Minolta MD 50mm 1.4. Works, reversing the rear element of Minolta MD 50mm f/2 BUT the lens will only focus about 30cm away. Reversing just the front element, you are left with a fisheye lens.
Hi! Great Tutorials with old leneses. You are an amazing and brave experimenter ;) Your tutos are very helpful and give us a lot of new cheap resources to our photos son...Congratulations. Do you know how to fix this lens to a Canon Eos FF Camera? Best Regards
Hey I recently bought an Industar 50-2 that I wanted to do it with. But apparently the front element is encased in a secondary screw thing. Have you had any experience modifying those?
Hi do you know If I would like to use this on a Canon 5D M2, is it enough to buy a M42 adopter and does it matter which adopter I buy? Thank you for a very nice video
Hi there! I hope you can help me I have a Mir 1B as well but it has a krasnogorsk mount on it and I was wondering if you knew how to disassemble the lens to add the m42 its supposed to have. Thanks!
your version is different from the m42 version, you should not try to change it, this one is made for cinema camera, if you really want the m42 version, just buy one and sell this one , it will cost you more to adapt this krasnogorsk version than to buy a 30 euros m42 Mir 1
oh darn thats what I was thinking it would come down to. This lens attracted me with its Cinema lens title and distracted from its mount setup. Will I be able to use this lens on anything else besides krasnogorsk cameras?
Joe B there is always a way to adapt it to your mirrorless but the price will be big, also with your version you can't remove the front lens and change it backward
this lens is a M42 lens, it could work with a mirror camera, but for that you need to know if your camera can accept M42 adaptors, if yes, then it will work :)
+Eduardo Aji Pradana it would work only on specific lenses with a from lend than can be reversed, it's not easy to know which one is like this, i would not recommend to open your lens if you are not sure the front glass is the good kind.
