Today Jenny built a small additional scene for her model railway, using a Scenecraft iron church as the focal point. If you like the look of it and fancy one for your layout, or want to browse the other Scenecraft products that are currently on sale, here's a link to help you out: bit.ly/2C83PQh

A nice little corner scene. I like the Tabernacle Church. It brightens up the scene. Martin. (Now working in the North-West of Thailand, so "Yorkdale" is on hold again and packed away in boxes.)

I like the way you have made the tracks in the mud. What is lacking is the gravel carried over onto the paved area, which takes place when the cars drive away. Like you, I also remember the corrugated iron buildings, which must have been horrendously noisy at times of heavy rain and hail. I think the one in our village became a storage area for the local shop before being knocked down and a house built by a local family. The static grass is brilliant, well done

The Tabernacle looks great Jenny. Some of the Scenecraft buildings can be quite expensive, but I noticed that Rails had some really good offers on, so I bought the Watermill for just £29!

Nice little scene there. We have a Tin Tabernacle here in Hythe. It’s always been called that. It is alongside the Royal Military Canal

Tabernacle - from the book of Exodus, second book of the Bible, a "portable temple" as the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years. There was a tin tabernacle in Llandudno which was known as the "tin tab". And as someone has pointed out, when it rains... I was preaching in Sao Tome in a tin tab and a tropical storm started and I had to shout at full volume to be heard at all. Lovely model. I'm going to follow your link to get one. And great presentation again.

"You don't want a quagmire..."Oh yes I do, Jenny, I'm trying to depict an area with a high water table on my layout, ditches and ponds a-plenty with liberal use of Aqua Magic and wetland plants. I used a lorry to create deep wheel ruts and I'm delighted with results. The flexibility of modern scenic materials is simply amazing!

Hi Jennifer, new scriber to your channel. I've enjoyed your previous videos. Good to hear your response to some critics on your carpenters skills. I'm much like yourself, use what you have and enjoy the achievement of reberthing. Regards Stewart from 'Down Under'

Looks great Jenny, I really like the flowers, I think the purple works, like you say it’s spring and I’m sure that church would have lots of tulips or even bluebells. Cheers Geoff

I believe that the tin tabernacle model is based on St Saviours church originally provided by the Midland Railway for its employees based around Westhouses in Derbyshire. The building has for some years been preserved at the Midland Railway Butterley Swanwick Junction museum site where it is used for meetings, as an event space, and even wedding blessings and funerals. Details can be found here : www.midlandrailway-butterley.co.uk/swanwick-junction/st-saviours-church. The actual location isn’t dissimilar to Jen’s model with various items of plant and equipment as well as the narrow gauge running shed nearby. It can be picked out in this aerial footage I shot in 2018 : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ye7qx_cpLjs.html during the annual Indietracks music festival.

I suppose time waits for no-one. Moving house is always difficult. All the best to your folks and I hope they get settled in a nice area. There'll be some other useful stuff amongst it all. Nice old 'school' or 'Village Hall' too. Cheers Jenny! Take Care and Keep Well.

Great work. Love the tin tabernacle! That really adds something to the whole scene. Have you considered a small grave yard? (morbid yes, but eye-catching) - that would fit well with the hearse seen in one of your shots.

Your "come with me" catchphrase always reminds me of the lyrics of the theme song for "Dark Towers" from "Look and Read" in the early/mid 1980s - do you remember that?
