Thank you for clearly showing how to do this with great explanations and pictures. I did this same project 10 years ago and it came out very nicely , however I have forgotten more then I remembered . I'M just Harry homeowner. Again : well done presentation . You've given me the confidence and knowledge to do this correctly . Thank you.
I know you made this video a while ago, but I just wanted to say how much it helped me. I have a walk-in shower like the one you did here. It was a new build from 8 years ago. The floor was flat pebbles, but there has been water standing under the concrete, on the liner, pretty much since it was done. It seems sloped properly, but when we dug out the concrete around the drain, you can see that the liner is not laying smoothly on the first mortar surface. There's a ridge around the drain that makes it impossible for all the water to drain in to the weep holes. Our drain set-up has weep channels, rather than holes; they were filled with mortar. Even cleaning all that out leaves water standing because of those low spots. Do you think there is any way to fix this without tearing the whole thing out? A tile installer removed the existing pebble flooring, but wouldn't continue until we resolve the standing water. Your video was so helpful, as I had no idea what goes in to making the shower. If only everyone was as precise and careful as you are here! Thank you so much!
In my opinion I would replace the whole thing in the fashion that I show in the video. If there are issues with the top layer, there are most likely issues with the rest. I hope this helps. Thanks
