@@UnkindPort84663 if your buying wood from the store your looking at like 150 worth of wood right there not no 35. And if you get a proper setup for 500 you get all the mounting points for add ons and a TV stand connected. If your planning on actually sim racing I definitely worth the investment
@@daviddempsey2546 definitely not 150 but not 35 either. Also sometimes you can get lucky and get some free scrap stuff or even stuff that is bowed "which doesnt really matter here as you can cut the bow out" if you ask them which can bring the cost down.
Wdym that is the most simple thing i’ve ever done all my friends i play with have done this but recently i got an actual handbrake and its better than makeshift console thingy.
@@scaredmouse6643 So youre a thief... got it Stealing someones car seat that they need to DRIVE and potentially earn their living so you can play a game... totally selfish
Respect! All I have say! I was fortunate to found a relative cheap set for 200, which I saw in Amazon for over 400 US dollars. Believe it or not, I even used, in the past, a sewing machine. I used to flip the wood cover, set wheel on top, grab a chair, set the pedal on the carpet. The sewing machine was heavy enough to keep steady. It was perfect
It is extremely well made though bro, honestly if you sand it, bondo some of the creases/holes, and paint it. It’d look way better than most setups out there.
This is awesome. I came across this a few days ago and started making mine the same day. If anyone is interested, lumber cost $13.34. I was able to get the drivers seat from an 08 infinity G35; it cost $50 from the junk yard. Blue prints: base, 4’x19”, uprights, A side 2’ ,B side 32.5”.
I bough my g29 last week i got the full bundle with the shifter its good so far i spent the first 2 days messing with the settings and finding what im comfortable with i tested different games like assetto, forza, carx, city car sim, but assetto is definitely the best game so far, problem i had was the wheel being too stiff i had to play around ingame settings tuning the ffb had to use a lut file, btw the wheel is loud especially in forza horizon 5 if you want a quiter one i think a belt based wheel is better. but its fun you wont regret it
I’ll give you a piece of advice that I wish I had taken back when I first got into sim racing - if you really like the G29 and want an upgrade, do it right. Set a budget and start putting aside money each month to save up for it, and then go all in. I went from a G29 to a Thrustmaster base to a used CSL elite and finally to a full Moza setup. I made some money back reselling the old products, but I would have saved so much if I had just got the Moza stuff all at once. Sim racing is an amazing hobby, and if you have a lot of fun and want to invest in a better experience, don’t just go for the cheap option, treat yourself 🤝
I made mine from scrap wood from work 😊 and using a small table looks similar to what you did, but I didn’t go through all that other stuff. I just made it secure wooden box as the base which was already made for me because like I said, got it from work. Everything I got from work made sense since I work in a place where many items come in and go now if I can get the seat like you did I’ll be awesome right now I’m using a foot rest 😅😅😅 but it works lol anyways mine is what I call the ghetto Sim setUP 😆😜👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
My friend invited me to his house once to try his sim setup. It was similar to this and he had spray painted it black. He made it from the 2x4 pieces from those crates they use to ship things. We work at a body shop and sometimes big parts come in these wooden crates. He had been saving piece to build his rig. I thought he had bought it. I’ve been wanting to build something similar and this is the best diy vid I’ve soon. Thanks for uploading and sharing. Will follow ur plans to build my rig
Diy sim rigs are like asmr for me, something about the cheap dad attitude of "I can build that for cheaper" is so satisfying...I did something similar... I hit mine with a coat of black outdoors paint to give it a nice professional look
Did this as well, used some heavy duty 2x6's and the thing is absolutely rock solid. Anyone on a budget debating if this is worth doing, if you can use a saw and read a tape measure. DO IT, absolutely worth it.
I love this. I may have watched about 100 times while building my first DIY. The good old days. Where it all started and it was downhill from there lol. Now I have a lot less money in my pockets 😂😂😂
THANKS SOOOO MUCH!👍THIS VID MADE ME START SIM RACING,BUY A G29 AND MADE THIS THING EXACTALY LIKE YOUR INSTRUCTIONS! I’m a big fan of you and sim racing😊
Thats peetty sweet, only thing id change is that seat, it doesnt look like it has much lumbar and you can go to any random junkyard and get a real car seat that would have been burned anyway
This looks decent! I'll probably use this video to build my own. My closet rig only has 21 inches of width clearance though, so I'll have to adapt some of it.
Total was 50 dollars for me, minus the chair because we had one. The only suggestion I would give is to make a video going into more detail on everything. Also make the instructions at the beginning less blurry. Other than that it was great and works great.
As far as wood rigs go, that is a very clean and nice design. Some filler and paint and it would really look professional. I would go to a scrap yard and buy a real car seat, then you get adjustments also. But very nice, good job!
Some changes: junk yard seat, and use the slider underneath so your friends can get their seat right when they play Shifter and handbrake setup together. Or sequential and handbrake with h shifter back. And personally for me I really like to switch left and right so I would use clamps so that I can move them whenever Could get triple screens with the common not too expensive triple mount stand right behind the wheel Good stuff
Believe the Logitech thruster/wheel have m8 threads in it. Take the elastic off and bolt it down and it will be sick . I got a foldable one (no seat) for $95. Love it . But this a great cheap option
I used to work as a mechanic so I took home real car seat which could be adjusted like in a real car height and everything, then I also connected a real handbrake to my g27 at the time . I used to love it and played a lot. I also waned to put a real steering wheel but was too much work so I gave up
Only thing will be to have a different tv platform separate from rig to avoid vibrations when using a direct drive. I built mine too and had to change tv platform coz of too much force feedback on my moza from Logitech g29. Best decision ever as l can customize it how l want and could later build for other ppl too
I did something similar to this years ago with way more wood than needed and way more clutter but then i used a Supra dashboard to cover up my crapmanship and Supra handbrake to make up for the jankiness.
@SimRacingSucks I'll one day post a video of my set up and tag you. All my friends say it's one of the dopest self builds they've seen. Was even offered 700 dollars for it!
Cheep amazon gaming chairs work also and add a more racing vibe, they run around $100 and have 4 perfect bolts on the bottom that fit great on the rig.
