When drilling plastic with any hole cutting tool you must put the drill in reverse not forward to cut the hole the teeth on the bit are to sharp for plastic so reverse works like a charm 😜
Absolutely!!! In the days since I made that video, I have completely come around to the idea that melting plastic is far easier than cutting it. Great advice.
Hello! Yes the fan on my box pulls the air past the meat rather than pushing it in. I found this more effective and I presume it’s because the air can’t just make a humid little vortex in the box (maybe, that is a bit of a guess!). But to be honest it doesn’t make a huge difference, just so long as the air is being moved and refreshed to keep the meat drying.
drill a couple of tiny holes in the end of the long bamboo/wood then stick a toothpick/nail to keep everything from wiggling free and dropping you product into the bottom of the box, and a few zip ties or string to keep the cross members from flopping about and bang! no product on the box floor . : )
Is the fan for take off the air outside the box Or to add new air from outside ? could you please let me know what is the direction of the air ? Thank you
@@J1I9M7M4Y Does matter actually, hot air rises, as such if the bulb was at the bottom of the box and the fan on the lid the air circulation would be a lot more efficient, and if the wattage of the bulb was increased to 40 watts you could get away from using a fan altogether.
Hey Geoff! I find it depends on your environment. The light is just for gentle heat so if you live somewhere warm then you can get away with not having one. But if your house is cold, like mine, then a light keeps the temperature in the box that little bit higher.
Great clip well done. I will mention one thing. The hole saw you used had quite aggressive teeth. A hole saw with smaller teeth would be less prone to shattering.
I completely agree. I confess, I'm a bit of a - 'what's in the tool box I can use so I don't have to buy anything?' - kind of girl! That hole saw was pretty vicious and little teeth would certainly have been easier. Great advice, thanks.
