Absolutely the best DYI gate Ive ever seen. You Sir are truly a Mechanical Engineer. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Gene Taylor Austin, Texas
It's not a gate, it's totally shit without any construction standards. I think that sound when it works is like Boeing's takeoff, and all of dogs lost their voice. But for russian terrorists to make shit, to live in shit is like a normal
That is some GREAT work on that sliding fence!! I was going to go chain link with wooden panels but you inspired to to go bigger! Wish me luck because I'm going to be a first time welder!
@@xntricity6446 That's a big negative and changed overall design. Plan on getting a CountyLine 12 ft or 10ft. Wire Gate, Green from Tractor supply and mount an automatic arm on that to keep my dogs out of the front yard (where I have my main auto sliding gate). I don't want them rushing out onto the busy street whenever someone comes home and opens the main gate. Now only if I can peel myself away from working on my urban backyard garden 🥴
@xntricity6446 That and the high probability of them doing a shotty job on my new gate are the reasons why I resorted to RU-vid to research how I can do the job right myself! Looks like you're in the same boat as me brotha!
Won't the gate loose balance and lean forward due to weight imbalance when sliding forward as there is no support on the bottom in the middle of the drive way??
It has two points of constraint on the end where it slides towards. So when the gate is fully closed, one roller is experiencing an upward force while the other experiences a downward force. That's how it holds the weight when fully closed (because he welded the roller assembly to the pad he built)
@@n.r.2258 yes I found it, the other day it was here in the chat just scroll down! - but I also found the same in a local shop you Can probably do the same
