Thank you for your very calming and informational instructions. I have a huge patch of lavender in my front yard and wish to make smudge sticks with some of it.
You're welcome! I have a lot of lavender and rosemary as well and I like to combine the two or add a Palo Santo stick inside as well! Have fun making it!
I'll have to try doing these! Because where I live all the stores with cleansing sticks only have white sage ones, and I do not wanna use those since Im not part of indigenous culture. (friendly reminder if ure not indigenous please consider different type of sage for cultural appropriation and overharvesting of white sage) And making your own is much cheaper and you can put your own energy into them! and you can choose which herbs you put into them. I also love that you added clear quartz to it!! Also do you use fresh herbs and then let them dry? And when you're done with it, do you just spray it with water to put it out?
Thank you so much and I hope you are able to create some awesome bundles! I dry them outside in the sun first, then I create the bundles when it's been fully preserved so there isn't any moisture locked inside. To put it out I have a burn plate and it goes out naturally, you should only light it enough to get an ember, smoke, then a soft smudge.
It is up to you, I leave them on until it gets closer to the middle, then I scoot it down. But if you just want to energize it in the beginning that is okay too.
