As impressive as this scope is for home build, it has many issues from the practical point of view. You would be better off making an open red dot sight to be honest (something like Holosun 510). On the other hand 3D printable SMGs are actually pretty decent, if made well.

Took me a while to realize that the glass could be used as windage and elevation adjustments if you painted a reticle on them, kind of like the mosins PU 3.5 scope. Great vid!
Man, I want to make a cardboard PSO-1 scope, but I think it's much different compared to your scope. What should I do? What magnification should I use? How thick should the lens need to be and where to put the reticle? Btw, do I really need to make the reticle like yours, I mean, can I just put a piece of glass and cut the reticle pattern?

Hey how could I make that from metal parts with a post reticle? Post and cross hair. Looks like modern scopes the reticle is part of an erector assembly and the turrets move the end of the erector
