Charlie....I just finished making this, it cooled off, I iced it, and woo...woooo...wooo! This sock it to me cake is the best! I havent had original sock it to me since a dear friend of mine from New Orleans went to heaven 23 years ago..she made it exactly like your recipe...the pecan and cinnamon crumbs were so perfect...it just reminded me so much of her...she also was a true New Orlean cook like yourself...from the cornbread to the greens to the smothered porkchops she woiuld make...she like yourself just had those "cooking hands," evrything you cook reminds me so much of her....that cake is just everything that a sock it to me cake should be...please post more videos...and by the way my favorite dish she would make was "shrimp ettoufe," I hope I spelled it right...lol....I know you got a recipe up your sleeve on that one...can you post one pleeese? My great aunt's Sock-it-to-me cake was no where near as pretty as yours, lol. One of my favorite cakes - great with coffee. You do instructional cooking videos very well - very thorough and detailed, clearly filmed, easy to understand, not a lot of extraneous chatter but still fun and friendly. Well done.
