If you are doing a lot of yard projects and have extra soil that you are getting rid of...
I'm constantly buying soil and leveling my yard. I'm also constantly doing other yard projects that involve "bad" soil. I put those two together and made a DIY soil sifter for beginners.
I removed a tree from my front yard and had a lot of soil that had rock, woodchips, and junk in it. Being a lawn nerd now, I know how valuable good soil can be so I didn't want to toss it, but how could I make it usable to put on my nice beautiful lawn? It needed to be "cleaned" sifted out. Jordan from 'The Lawn Tools' made a video with great timing and helped me do a DIY (crude) carpentry project.
No links or detailed material list because your wheelbarrow or whatever you use to sift into is most likely a different size than mine.
Basic Material List:
• (2) 2" x 4" x 8' (or 2 x 3 in my case)
• 1/8" Hardware cloth - Here is a link for Amazon, but I'm sure you can browse and find some cheaper at Ace Hardware or Home Depot.

• Regardless if you can find 1/8" or only find 1/4" mesh, USE A DOUBLE LAYER for strength.
• 1-1/2" and 2-1/2" wood screws. I had both sizes left over from previous projects
That's it! Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!
