This design and your clear instructions are the best I’ve found online. I’ve already made three covers from my fabric stash! I use transparent ostomy bags, so this cover is perfect when I go out and it’s easy to empty. I’ll find out next month if my ostomy will be permanent or not, but living with it really isn’t that bad. 😊
Thank you so much! This was never within the realm of my imagination, but I now have a family member who needs this. Your instructions are clear, concise, and you make it look so easy. Thank you!!
Thanks so much, my daughters about to have her surgery for a stoma and she gave me her bags to size up the covers but I was wondering how to construct. Now this will make it easy for me to sew up as many as I can for her to wear with anything! ❤🥰🤗
Thank you soooo much for this tutorial...easy and understandable 👍🏻 my mum has just had surgery and I wanted to find something to make her feel more 'human', I'm sure this will be perfect. Xx
Thank you, I'm new to the stoma bag, and hopefully going to Turkey in August, should of gone in may but my body thought differently, so making these might give me a bit more confidence xx
Thank you so much for the tutorial. I can sew and pattern making comes easy for me. However I would not have doubled the back piece 🫢. Good thing I watched your video. I have one question though. Can any fabric do or do I need a stretchy fabric?
I would like to make one of these for a friend but don’t really know the size of her stoma bag. Is there a way a universal bag cover be made. ??? By the way brilliant idea . As an ex nurse it would be wonderful to show selection of covers to patients with a new colostomy. ❤
I’ll be honest, I didn’t know there were different sizes and styles until someone mentioned it. I’d made it from using someone’s bag. I’m not even sure if the fittings are all the same either. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
No, there are loads of different sizes. That's why I showed how to measure and work to a particular bag. The hole sizes seem to have been similar on the ones I have seen, but the bags themselves are different.
Thank you, very helpful I have bought bag covers online but they never fit my bag properly. I'm thinking of learning how to sew and make my own. This is a great help on what to do, although I suspect that it is nowhere as easy as you make it look!
Thank you so much for your tutorial, I now know how to make a similar one to yours 😊. I'm making mine for my grandson, he is almost 1yr old, he has spina bifida and a problem with his bowel (not related to the spina bifida). He has had his stoma since he was 3 or 4 days old. I have watched soo many videos on here but I couldn't understand half of them. Thanks once again ❤
@@SoozInTheShedwhat they’re saying is if the bag is attached to someone’s stomach/stoma- they won’t be able to put the bag through the bottom. most people put covers on while they’re wearing their appliance. i have an ostomy and i can fit my bag when it’s empty through the hole in the middle of a cover, so that would most likely be what needs to be done
