I haven't fully red this book ru-vid.comUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO yet but it is a good basic understanding of the different woods that all woodworkers should know.
this guy is a God...awesome work everytime with the tips and tricks too. Love the way he explains everything so you understand each step fully. GENIUS!
That is a beautiful frame! Amazing work. I love how simple you make it seem, it has caused me to want to pick up wood working. I've always wanted to but it seemed too difficult. Thanks for your videos!!!
Hi Jon , I am making this exact frame for a very large mirror , all out of walnut, your teaching skills are wonderful very well thought out ( new sub) thank you
What I like is not only your fine work, but also your clear explanation. You speak without hesitations, it surely takes more than a craftsman to make a good video. Congratulations.
Jon that is a great job of how you make the frame. I use to make picture and mirror frames a few yrs back, Making that frame like that looks great. I am getting into business again making frames, all the best from the man down under..
Hi Mr. Jon Peter I’m Wayan all the way from Bali Island,,, I watched all your tutorials and I decided to purchase tools that your using or recommended. Thanks, looking forward for some more video 🙏
Good video, nice build. It might have been easier to label the back of the staggering 7 deg. blocks then flip over. I learned about the sacrificial chop saw fence. If I saw it before I had forgotten. BTW - MDF absorbs moisture so it’s not glue friendly. You could an acid brush, then after the first coat has penetrated hit it with a second coat? I would have primed and possibly painted prior to glue up and lay painters tape on the back where the glue holds? Of course it’s your project so nice job and there’s a hundred variances to build this I suppose
This guy is clear, methodical and very talented. If he were born in 287 BC and worked with Archimedes of Syracuse, the Greeks would be running the world today. Rock on Jon Peters. Rock on.
Jon really nice work. I like the way you worked out the problem, i would of spent months shaving each block by a gnats dodah. I have "liked" and was already a subscriber. Keep the videos coming. Regards Roger
Hey Jon I really enjoyed your video, especially all the little helpful hints. You truly explained it well, with all the specifications by steps. You truly are a Master Woodworker, and I am confident now to attempt my first frame,(without the 69 little pieces) :) Those are the type of frames I wanted to built, but wasn't quite sure. Many thanks!!!
hello Mr Jon .. I watch your video now from Sweden. I want to tell you , you are a big artist and big respect to you.🙂 thanks .. and I hope work with you som practice .
Excellent. Now I have an idea on how you can make a thing of beauty from an initial square flat frame. I am just starting out (at 60 in retirement) learning how to work with timber. Regards from 'down under'.
Hey Jon. Just found your channel, and really like your videos! Really drooling over your jointer. What a beast! Question. That original frame that the mirror came in, don't you want to get some paint stripper and bring that back to its original state
Another trick with chop saw. Take a piece of blue wide painters tape and apply it to the full length of the saw blade cut chanel. Make sure it is stuck to both sides of the saw table where the blade comes down through. Run the saw and bring it down to cut through the tape. There is your perfect reference line, even when you change angles of cut. Abundant Love & Blessings Full Service Handyman
Great, great, great job! Very nice frame; original design and it looks impressive. However: wouldn´t be less work if you first assemble the complete moulding in a straight line and then cut once the four miters at the corners? All the best.
BoxxerCore I got one just because of this video. they are great for aligning work. I am making a gram similar to this and it made that sub frame so easy to make.
these are outstanding videos...i'm interested in making my own frames for stretching canvases. i saw your video on stretching canvases but didn't see one for cutting the wood, etc. for the frame. did you use a biscuit joiner for your art frames that you stretched your canvas over? i'm looking for a good way to join the frames for the art canvases. thanks a lot.
I only recently came across your website I love how you take pretty basic mouldings and put them together to look so good It often say about them that less is more
That's so old school. He will of course just place a small flash disc with this youtube video on it. Hoping that someone will be able to read it at that time.
Jon, the little squares you put into the channel - are they perfectly square, or rectangular. ....or does it matter? I am having the hardest time getting it to come out even.
