Today I will be making a super simple Wedding Arch. This video will take you through step by step how to create a Wedding Arch perfect for any wedding Day. This is a super easy build and can be easily constructed in a day with simple power tools. How complicated or how far you take the project is entirely up to you. The fact that you bolt the wedding arch together means its easy to transport. The Wedding Arbor has 1m bottom legs, 2.2m high posts and 1.7m long top bar. The material is construction grade 2x4 timber or if you're in Australia I used 90mm by 35mm pine timber. To lose the construction feel to the timber I removed the rounded edges and ran the boards through the thicknesser to remove the ridges on the timber. The bolt the top piece of the timber on I used 80mm M8 black bolts as I thought that would look the best.
This video will take you through step by step of the build from start to install.

Lucky you only started this woody caper post-marriage Ains... imagine all the things the Engineer might have requested if you had the skill set and tools a few years earlier 😁

Really nice use of materials that create such a festive structure Ainslee, most times screws will do all we need & those coach screws are strong as 💪💪💪. Happy days 🇦🇺🍻👍

Great video! Thank you for the idea of using lag bolts flush on the bottom as the main support! That was the trickiest part, but the best part. I had a 1" drill bit to make room for the bolt heads to be flush with the bottom, a long drill bit of 5/16" to make pilot holes for 7" lag bolts of 3/8", which worked great, tightening the bolts with a socket & ratchet. For additional support and aesthetics I cut a 2x8 board into triangles (I got one 3' long, so I used less than half of it) , instead of 2x4's at 45 degree angles. It was a little tricky to get the 90 degree angles fitting the main bottom and vertical 2x4's, but this worked well to put in screws from the bottom for each and at least one of the triangles got screws on the verticals the from other side, in addition to a screw on each side from the front at 45 degrees. This was also easier with my limited tool set (circular saw, 4 & 1/2" sander/grinder, battery-powered drill, tape measure, pencil (regular, ha), 90 degree straight edge, clamps like you used, 4 milk crates to work on it outside, etc. Your shop & setup is very nice but not in my future, unless I win the lottery, which is more difficult for me to do since I don't play it, ha.). Thanks again.

I saw the bosch sander come out for a few seconds. Just a bit of feed back I purchased the same sander the week after watching your review great review by the way to. Very happy with it one of the best purchases I've made. You have to hang on tight in terbo mode.. Total tools should be looking at your chanel as well maybe something in the future. Steve Tas

Very cool, and so simple! Curious of why you did not do some sort of decorative rafter tail cuts on the top cross piece.
