You can make a teepee out of 4 yards of fabric and 4 dowels. See how easy it is to do and get the free pattern here from Northcott www.northcott.c... This is the fabric called Little Genius www.northcott.c...
I truly love this project. I was just looking for something for my grandchildren to play indoors during winter. This teepee will be so much fun for them to play in.... I truly appreciate you Laura!!!
When my oldest grandson was little I bought him a tent at a thrift store. I also found a scrappy snake with a baby rattle in the tail. I draped the "rattlesnake" around the top of the tent. He loved it. He is now 26 yrs old.
I made three tee pee's years ago for my grand children who are now 15,18 and 22. My great grand daughter is now playing in my oldest grand daughters tent. I used plastic pvc pipe for my poles..
Thanks fir the guide. I made one using electrical conduits. I had to adjust the size, because the print went along the fabric length, with the result that the base ended up 45", which was the fabric width.🇦🇺
Oi!!! Laura. Beautiful projet. Amei e vou fazer para o meu netinho Davi. Aproveito para desejar a você e sua família um Feliz Natal e um Ano Novo Cheios de bênçãos de Deus. Obrigada por compartilhar o seu conhecimento. Aprendi muitas coisas . Você é linda. Sou do Brasil.😙😙😙😙
I make dog/cat tents & make it out of fleece cause it is stretchy enough to with stand the animals but i would make it out of that instead, but that is so cute! were did you find the huge dowels?
This looks great but can you tell me the width of the fabric please? I've tried to find it and have just found one place where it says 112 cms which is 45 inches, is this correct? thank you.
I love this. I'm going to make a tee pee for my grandson. He will love it.! I enjoy all your videos. Also I love your hair. Mine is also long and gray, white. I just turned 60.
Gday Laura. Wow, love this, so adorable, I have always wanted to make one, never really gotten around to it, I can now with your beautiful instructions of making one. Thank you for sharing. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas? XX
Laura, I would sincerely appreciate if you would show us your method of making a very nice PADDED tablet carrying bag and later on, possibly a laptop computer bag, similar to the one the "Arts and crafts 4 You" has made. I would like somehow have shoulder straps attached to be able to carry it-as well as some pockets for the needful accessories.... Students need to have their hands free for carrying other things. Thank you ever so kindly. Hope this can be a very near project. : ))
You have the cutest ideas! I have a question, Can you recommend a sewing/quilting sewing machine for someone with a disability? I only have about 40% use of my left arm. Im a new quilter and I refuse to give up on this. There has to be ways to make it work. Ive started so many crafts/hobbies to find out it wasn't possible without total use of both arms. Im not going to give up on quilting, Im going to find a way. I appreciate any advice you may have that will help me. I now own a singer confident quilter. Now that Ive got all the basics down Im thinking things like a thread cutter, knee lift would help me tremendously!
The Juki sewing machines have a foot pedal that will cut the thread using your FOOT. That would save you a hand movement. They also come with a knee lifter. The HZL F300 or F400 are very affordable and have speed control, so that would help you be able to sew at a slow speed if you needed. The speed control is great for beginners or folks who need to guarantee that they can floor the pedal and it wont go faster than the control is set for. ALSO, they have a start stop button that will allow you to sew without the foot pedal if needed. (you unplug the pedal and press start/stop) and this is great for decorative stitches where you really are just guiding the fabric. For helpful tools with the machine, buy and use a magnetic thread seam guide. This is a magnet that sits on the throat plate of the machine, and you simply run your fabric against it to keep the seam allowance straight.
Lastly, one thing that will help you ALOT, purchase some pellon fusible quilter's grid. This interfacing allows you to iron your patchwork squares down and then sew the seams after they are ironed down. I use this to teach beginners. There are videos for this product, here is one but you can search more. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UXBW6XhGvg0.html The quilter's grid is great stuff. You can use precut charm or layer cake squares if you want. It allows you to create PERFECT piecing. And I mean perfect. I admire you, you can do this girl!!! I am so proud you are not gonna give up, you will be a great quilter!!
Hi Laura, thank you for the video. Laura I do not understand why you cut the bottom of the door and add it to the top, please explain it for me. Thanks.
Hi, could you please share diagram of Teepee tent. I have 4 pieces of wood 5 feet long, 2” wide and 1” thick and it has holes, 1 is 6” down from upper side and the other one is 1 1/2” up from downside. And 3 pieces of 3/4” diameter are 4 feet long.
SewVeryEasy you already showed a very detailed and informative video, but it’s a tent with 4 poles. I want to make with 4 broad and 3 round pieces of wood like a hut.
@@rubinashahid690 sorry I misunderstood but oh my goodness that would be amazing! Unfortunately I do not have any diagrams to help you out with that. I do wish you all the best I figuring this out cuz I think it would be great
SewVeryEasy No problem dear, thank you so much for your good wishes. I have sent a friend request to you so when I will finished work on it, I will send you a picture on messenger.
Video request: forgive me if this has already been done but would you please make a video on how to make a printer cover? It's probably an easy one but I need guidance.
How to measure if I need to make a 5 walls teepee and cover all the way to the top..... your sample with the top open, I want it look for like Indian tent and I need to make it bigger....... Can you show me how to enlarge the pattern?> thanks thanks
You can add an extra leg, by using the same size piece in between. Just sew more panels together. I would make it little longer at the top if you want it to be more closed. Hope this helps
Hi Laura! I am making this teepee for my grandson. Two questions. Do you measure 35" down from the selvage edge or after the selvage? Also, @ 4:34, you mention trimming off the seam allowance. I am giving 1/2" seam allowances. Do I need to cut 1" off the top? Thanks so much!!
can you tell me if that's a me made sweatshirt? It's great. What pattern? I wore braids today, too! I thought I was the only adult who finds it comfortable:)
