Hi Everyone,
In this video, I am going to do my own nails. I really hate doing my own nails, but it's something a girl has gotta do.
I have decided to do some pastel ombres with a few of them having some gorgeous mylar inside.
I am going to do some artwork on these but I'll save that for another video.
Doing your own nails is never easy but hopefully, some of the hints and tips I have in this video may help you.

I think every nail tech needs to master doing your own nails before you work on others! You can feel how to file or use efile, pinching correctly and you can take your time to perfect your sculpting. It’s super hard to do your non dominant hand but if you can master that, just think how good your clients will look! My clients always say they can’t believe I can do it on myself! Love, love your nails!

true I started doing my own acrylic nails about 3 years ago and the first time I did my own nails it took me about 4 hours bcs I wasn’t experienced and doing my dominant hand was hard. if you are someone that want to start but doesn’t have the patient it won’t work

I totally understand about the camera angles. I had to train myself to do my nails without being super close to them in order to keep my hands in focus for the camera 😊

It really gets easier as you practice. I used to get nail polish everywhere, but now I can do them almost perfectly. It helps to put the polish brush on the nail and then push it into the cuticle area a few times (not quite touching the skin of course). If you try to plop the brush right into the cuticle you'll probably get it on the skin.

The older I get the more I like pink as well. I still don't wear in terms of clothing, but nails? You bet. From the pastel to the "hey, I'm a bloody glittery raspberry flamingo" is all game.

i wish we had nail techs like you where i am. You pay such close attention to detail i love that. you ensure the side wall and barrel are legit, my nail always break away where my natural nail ends because they pay zero attention to that, and when i bring it to their attention they seem bothered by me wanting exactly what i'm asking for you know.

wendy james I have terrible lifting and they look at me like I’m crazy when I ask for acid based primer. Most places don’t use it cuz of burns and lawsuits. 😩😩

After watching your videos for years...its been a dream of mine that I wish you were in the U.S. so you could do my nails. I'd drive to the other side of the country just to have you do my nails! I've tried several times thru the many years to get my nails done and each time its been a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE! Hardly any of them speak english, so they never do what you ask and do a VERY bad job. Then if your lucky and get one that speaks english, they still really botch the heck out of your nails. I've never met nor heard of anyone around where I live who's a good nail artist. I just ❤ your work!

Your work is so seamless and beautiful!! I am at a family Homeless Shelter with my daughter. I binge watch you vids when I can't sleep. I hope in the future I can find a way to get a tech license. Being homeless takes away so much more than material things. You certainly don't feel beautiful. But if I could come to women in my position and do their nails... I feel like having something beautiful helps. Thank you for your inspiration! You're AMAZING!

Thank you for all the videos! I made myself hard gel nails thanks to your inspiration. I cannot afford the salon even for a simple manicure or pay for name brand cosmetics. I did manage to make decent nails anyway on my own. I know I will get better at it with time. Thanks for so many great ideas. I am still waiting for my bits of bling to come in the mail. I will have to use quite a bit less bling than you and the nails are going to have to be on the shorter side because I garden, but I think you would be proud of my newbie attempt so far. I'm in my mid 50's and am proof you should keep trying a learning new things to keep your brain active and your life interesting. Hugs to you and your camera friend.

Yeah! I love it when you do your own nails! It shows how talented you really are! I'm still practicing when my husband sleeps during the day - he works the overnight shift. So I practice on my nails in the afternoon when he sleeps. The acrylic liquid still smells terribly for me so I wear a face mask. I am bound and determine to make an acrylic nail! Hi, I have to say something about you that I’ve noticed. From the amount of other nail videos I’ve watched and thought they were good, no one on RU-vid comes close to your precision and artistic skills. How long have you been doing this? Every day I find myself really focused on your work opposed to others I would watch previously. That’s how on point your work is. I’ve also noticed some nail videos are either focused on application while others more on the design aspect but haven’t ran across anyone as skilled as you are at both. You are a rarity to say the least. I’ve recently applied for nail tech school that hopefully I will begin this November. In my senior year in high school I won a scholarship to the art institute of Chicago with a full 4 year ride but turned it down to join the Marine Corps. Which I do not regret but have been craving to reintroduce myself back to my roots of my artistic side. I can only hope to become close to be half as good as you. You taught me something just watching this video. Since I recently started doing my own nails applying polygel, I was applying it wrong with my hands down on the table and now realized that’s why I never seemed to have full coverage over the entire nail plate, and had to reapply the polygel to the weaker edges of the side of my nail because it was never completely covered. You are what I aspire to become. The best of the best. Btw you have beautiful children and the oldest looks like you. Thank you so so much for your videos which are so so hands on to me. Your 3D cheetah and penny wise are the two designs I’ve been practicing on which I’m confident I can do. I love your personality, your drive and your teaching methods. You are loved and admired greatly! You have a new subby forever🤗
