Some of the most memorable games were stick man games, like Stick RPG, Stick Arena, Crackhouse Cleanup. Remember in the late 90's early 2000's stickdeath.com with all the crazy and violent stick videos and games? Those were the days.

Hello everyone! I've heard many of you guys say that the Make a Game course was getting too old and frankly I've never been fully satisfied with it so I decided to make this video as the first one in a mini-series on creating your first game. It's of course super beginner oriented (just like Make a Game) but I hope the more experienced of you will forgive me for that! :D I will of course still be doing more advanced tutorials! Anyway, hope you like the video :D

@DutchDeveloper thats probably because of the cubes colliders are not aligned so it creates spaces, try to aligned the cubes or even better, why dont you just expand a cube to the sides making it a rectangle that way it will be perfectly :p

Today marks the start of an amazing journey of exploring my passion (: I always thought learning all of this wasn't a good idea and I have no idea what led me to believing that. At 24 with a degree in something not related to coding at all and working a job i'm not passionate about at all... I had the same problem when I started, I had made lots and lots of games throughout a few years only to have a majority of them scrapped, of course, like you I learned a ton from them until I found an idea I was satisfied with that I'm sure I will not be scrapping any time soon! You will find that moment too, it just takes some time! :)

I've been looking for something like this for a long time since ever since I was either 6-7. I wanted to learn how to use the required tools to be a game dev. This tutorial series is great wouldn't say perfect because nothing is, but currently I'm 12 and I'm ready to study code.

Good place to go if you're serious is codecademy for c#, c++, java or others and w3schools for more extensive information. Younger you start, better off you are. But takes a lot of time and dedication.

Hey everyone! So I have been following Brackeys for 18 months now and I started with no knowledge at all. I feel like I can do anything, just released my first 2D game called "Doodle Trump" to the playstore, with level design, advertising integration (minimal ads), physics, mobile controls, UI, list goes on forever. This channel is fantastic and worth going through each an every video like I did. Check out the game if you are interested to see where you could be in a year and a half or otherwise have a great day and stick at it.

I havent had anyone download the game yet without actively reaching out to people, family, friends etc. I have done no advertisement and my developers page looks pretty plane at this stage (you can check it out if you like "Doodle Trump"), its only on the playstore for now but will be on the appstore soon. I cant know how much I make per ad at this stage as google analytics doesnt show until 5000 ads have been watched. To me it really shows the importance of learning how to advertise, have a great day!

Honestly, I feel like starting with GM2 (free version, of course) is a good idea. Not to make a full game, as most of It's features are locked by a pay wall, but to mess around and make a proof of concept or something. Then get to the fun part with Unity...
