I agree with Brian. It looks really nice, but it needs a longer handle. Pretty cool 😎

I like your perseverance and results with only limited tools and no workshop.. style is more important than expensive machines 👌

What's with all these videos with people not using guards on their grinders?

Yeh i use with no guards aswell, ok a slight mishap here and there resulting in a tiny bit off the knuckle but its knowing your limits and technique

Watching this guy used grinders very scary No disc guards ahh...loose eyes, fingers 🤞😢if disc breaks.. always clamps down work piece 😢😮😊

Omg. No real safety guidelines here. Where is the guard on your grinder. If your so good at making an axe head then make yourself a decent bench with a good vice.

My question... Does this kind of cutting and grinding compromise the structural integrity of the blade?
@Muszkinson

Exactly. I got same question. I think that this kind of cutting and grinding can easily over heat the steel and make it very soft so it cant be sharpened. I'm curious how this guy did that

Nope. it does not harm it so long as you keep cooling it a bit at the edge or if you dont get it so hot that the metal changes colour on the surface. If you see the thiner edge turn blue as yyou are grinding then it may harm the temper . It will only be a problem though if you intend to put the finished axe to realy hard use. This is only a very simple guide for this example. metalurgy and heat is a huge subject.
