Thanks Roman! AWESOME work! I don't get tired of watching this video. You make it look easy but i'm sure it's not. THANK YOU for sharing! Looking forward to more of your leather videos!
Incredible work Roman, just awesome, I have been researching on how to make my own leather straps as a hobby and your video gives a great detailed idea of the process, I am sure shaving the leather at the folding sides is quite difficult and you make it look so easy it seems as if you are cutting butter ha ha, I am sure it will take me lots of practice. Anyways, I big hello from Miami and keep up the good work, I will keep tuned for future videos.
Hello Rafael, I'm using yarn with thickness 50, cotton polyester. So I sew on my jeans. Each seam is 2-3 times. In 44 seconds, the ends are thinned out. Thus, the watch band is evenly thick! greetings Roman
This is a very nice instruction. I will probably use this to make a replacement strap for my Apple Watch along with an adapter bracket. Have you tried using a stitching groover to sink the stitches flush with the leather to keep them from wearing off over time?
excellent craftmanship great end product,i am a novice leather crafte im inthe process of ,making my first watchstrap,i wonder what do u put on with the brush is it protector,,
Wow! Amazing work. May I ask, how is the name of the emulsion, which you used to watch band (video at 6:15 min.), then the watchband beautifully silky matt, it is some impregnation?
hello Rafael, thank's for your comment! a lot of fun for your work. learning by doing. I begin my straps a year ago. best regards from southern germany
Greeting Roman I guess you use regular thread or yard to sew the band and go over or sew it 2 to 3 times is that correct? Now, I meant to ask you, at 44 seconds, what blade is that you are using? It looks likea barber straight blade for shaving but Im not sure, I would like somethign like it but cant find anything like the one you use.
Hello again Roman, do you mind telling me what blade you USE to cut the ends? ( 0:44 seconds) and what type of thread you use to sew the band? I have heard of people using 4 ply waxed Irish Linen, some use Nylon/Polyester regular sewing machine thread which is the kind I bought to use with the sewing machine, but it seems very thin compared to the thick stitching I have seen on some nice leather bands. Yours seem nice and I was wondering what type thread you use. Thanks
Inspirational work. Thanks for sharing. Now I need to learn how to split the leather that I want to use. Is the "emulsion" at 6:15 a secret? I noticed that you did not respond to the two previous inquiries regarding what it is made up of. Again, thanks for sharing your knowhow.
Hi Roman, can you please do a tutorial on how to make a watch strap/cover like the one you are wearing at 5:45?(the one that slightly covers the watch face). Thanks.
Hello Joseph, the leather is different thicknesses. 2mm, I take the leather two fold. 1mm, I take the leather 4 times. overall, the watch strap a thickness of 4-5mm. The ausenlinien are sewn with a sewing machine as you see. I sand the edges with a wooden or plastic disk.
