When you build a palette or a collection of watercolors, a glazing chart can be incredibly handy for understanding how your paints layer! In this video, I discuss how to make a glazing charts and how they differ from mixing charts.

I bought some new tiny tape at my art store that's going out of business (this weekend waaahhh!) but I'm really excited to be able to do clean charts like this! I've had a lot of pressing things to get done, but I can't wait to carve out some time :)

There's nothing like those clean tape edges! They're so satisfying. I look forward to seeing your charts when you can -- I know you've got a ton on your plate right now with AAC coming up and colour spotlights! I'm sorry to hear your art store is closing though. Online shopping is great, but there's nothing like physically being surrounded by more art supplies than you know what to do with!

I love glazing charts because I love layering colours versus mixing them, I find the resulting colours are way brighter. But we know how I am with my bright colours! 😆 I hope you do try it out! They're a lot of fun and very relaxing.

It is always so delightful to hear your voice! That chart is stunning, it could be turned into a piece of art. It's so pretty. Painting large paintings can be great fun, if you have big brushes :) (and yes the different colored fineliners are so cute on there.)

Thank you so much! 💜 I enjoy hearing your voice too! I hope one day to do a large painting! My largest brushes are a round #12 and a flat 3/4 inch so, uh, might be a bit in the future. I always love seeing your large brushes in your videos, they're so gorgeous!

Art of Ley Saulnier I paint full imperial sheets sometimes 30x22 inches) and the 1.5 inch flat brush is my best friend for doing the backgrounds. But then I go down to size 10 or 12 for the details.
