I think it’s neat seeing them walk backwards. It’s different. The fact that you can make this work who cares frontwards or backwards. It’s fascinating to watch.
Good work. I think you can simply make contact plates on the bottom of the disc, and a contact tab. So the light will go ON every time the plate makes contact on each tab. This way you can have disc spin at any rate and light flash at the right position.
Good job of explaining your zoetrope process, but I noticed you made the same mistake I made when I built my first one. That is, your character is walking backwards. Intuition says you should put each frame to the right of the previous frame or in clockwise rotation, the same direction as the turntable is rotating. That however creates a backwards animation. You need to place each frame to the left of the previous frame to get the proper sequence when you run it. If you haven’t glued the frames in place then you simply have to remove the frames and reinsert them in the opposite direction. The reason I’m aware of this is when I showed my first creation to my daughter she pointed out to me that my little mouse was walking backwards. I had already glued each frame in place so I had to remake the whole thing. Embarrassing but a good lesson!
When I realized it was too late lol, but It will be something I take into account when I make my next Zoetrope. Thanks for the comment I hope you enjoyed the video.
