When I made absinthe I found the main factor in losing the bright green color was the proof. Above about 120 or so it stayed green. When I diluted it to 80 or 90 it went brown within a day or so.
chiangmaipies my sister she is numbder one prodstitute ... I would like to go to the U S and A to make love explosion on on Pamela's Anderson stomach !
Great video. One should consider absinthe a medicinal tincture, as it was originally intended. Taken in moderation and in water or sparking water it has wonderful effects. But it could easily become addictive. Wormwood, itself, is dangerous taken consistently, even in the short term. This is a remarkable beverage but should be treated with respect.
Thank you for the video. Just a simple suggestion, if you don't mind. Try to add subtitles to your video. Sometimes it's hard to understand what you are saying.
Nobody was making fun of his accent. It's hard to understand at times, that's all. The music over his voice does not help either. It was just a suggestion. That's all. I'm not here to judge anyone. After all, he is doing us a favor with his videos. We have a choice not to watch if we don't like it.
Says contents are against Facebook community guide lines can u publish the recipe some where else I Wana not 21 when I first saw ur vid and I would like to try no that I'm a a drinking adult.
Hello and thanks for the video instructions. I hope that we will get more inspiration from you in the near future. May I ask, what is the purpose of the jar at 2:04 before the freezer?
You can just filter for a macerated absinthe, but you'll be saving all the super bitter compounds instead of just the aromatics that you want. By distilling you get the characteristics of the herbs without the unwanted heavy compounds. Just be careful which herbs you choose for the coloring stage after distillation.
I am close to making my own Absinthe. I have a few questions. 1. Is it really necessary to separate hearts and tails? If I use grain alcohol like Everclear then it has already had the hearts and tails removed. Right? How could acetone and methanol get into it? 2. Your recipe calls for “absinthimum” for color. Is this grand wormwood or Roman wormwood?
try it! we did it a few years ago, and i am back for more we just figured the proof by basing it on the what we started with, which was everclear... idk, maybe we got it wrong, but the stuff was great
Hello, I made around 10 L of absinthe with a formula from a book: absinthe, anise and fennel, macerating in 72% alcohol, for 7 days, then I diluted it to 40% and distilled, I obtained about 7 L to 78% and I diluted it to drink at 66% after coloring it with hyssop and lemon balm. When diluted with cold water to drink in a 1: 4 ratio, the louche does not occur, it does not turn white, what do you think could happen?
@@gio1984lc Sounds reasonable. I've noticed on other videos that you can see a "temporary" louche take place when the tails are dripping into the product from the condenser.....louching for a second , or two before returning clear.
the infusion is distilled. you can ferment whatever you want and distill that for the infusion. too hard and illegal for most of us, so either get moonshine from a friend or use everclear
Also.... the ending is absolutely delicious!! I'm not a huge fan of alcohol.... i only like to enjoy a bottle of beer every now and then during weekends.... but i'm surely is attracted to this Absinthe thing now, hahaha!!
looking into trying this as well, im wondering why you distill after infusing the everclear with the herbs wouldnt it work just as well without that step?
you leave a lot of heavier, less tasty substances in the drink if you don't distill. when you put it through the still, you extract the ethanol and the essential oils in the plants. the maceration at the end is for a very short period of time in order to give it color and to add very subtle flavors to the finished product
It would be significally more bitter and rough without distillation (remember how the author wondered, that the fnal product was not as bitter as he'd thought it would?).
Absinthe its not like the real Absinthe .is illegal now the ingredients are so low now you not even feel it even more you will pass out by the alcohol first. make it at home like you is the best :D great vid dude
Hi.. Great video! Great jobb!!!... please, how many plants do I need to grow for every 100 grams of dry artemisia absinthium? I have no idea of the yield... Please give me an help..I want to grow all the herbs and The space is not that Mach for growing all the six herbs... and about how many Anice plants for 50 grams of fruit/seeds... Thank you very much I will appreciate your help
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I have been looking for an absinthe recipe for years, just not on youtube. This makes it all come together. The first part of your process I am very familiar with, the tincture making. If I were to make the tincture of Artemisia absinthium, vodka or rum, Melissa officinalis, and other herbs, minus the water, let it steep for two weeks, then strained, would that not accomplish the same task as the distillation?
if you strain a tincture, you are left w a tincture. distilling will leave behind more bitter junk and boil off unwanted flavors, creating a smoother drink
There s a seriousproblem with this recepy. The absinthe(artermissia absyntum) it is incredibly bitter.I made my own recepy of bsynthe to which i added 1.5 table spoon of artermissia absyntum to 750 ml of alcohol and let it rest for 2 weeks. The results :It was almost impossible to drink it .Guess what will happen if you add that much of artemissia....
Yes. Because the green color is caused by the chlorophyll in the drink, it has to be kept in a dark glass to keep it from turning to amber and eventually brown.
+Δήμος Καδόγλου look for ethanol ( made generally from sugar or corn) is the most available industrial pourpose alcohol....and by the way.....the only the human body could take. You could use a high grade vodka for avoid ANY MISTAKE......or could made your own from sugar....google the recipes. Regards
Most of the time pharmaceutical alcohol is 100% isopropyl or ethanol mixed with isopropyl alcohol. Go will go blind if you drink it. Look for Everclear brand in liquor stores.
This seem s like a great recipe. I especially love the part with the orange. The accent is sometimes difficult to follow. I couldn't make out what herb is used to give color along with the hyssop and absinthium. For the person who found the absinthium too strong, he is using fresh blossoms which, depending upon the soil and weather, may vary greatly in intensity.
+hasmar martinez The proper way to drink absinthe is to pour in an ounce of absinthe place an absinthe spoon(or a pie server if you don't have one) on top of the glass with a sugar cube on it, and then slowly drip or pour iced water on top. You do NOT set absinthe on fire. because it effects and ruins the flavors, and you don't drink it straight because of how strong both it and the flavor is.
