I didn't choose art, it chose me. Since the age of 5 I knew I was meant to be an artist and have pursued that passion ever since. I've worked as a graphic designer professionally my entire adult life and have always done abstract art on the side. In mid 2020 I was working on a commissioned piece and was asked if I could make something in the style of pour painting. I had been pinning acrylic pouring/fluid art on Pinterest for a few years but had know idea how to create it. Thanks to the many wonderful artists on RU-vid who were willing to share their creation videos, tips, and tutorials on liquid acrylic painting I was able to start creating work in this style and I wanted to share that experience with you. Make sure to like and subscribe to my channel to follow along my journey of failures and triumphs and see all the fun techniques I try for the first time. There will also be tips and tricks I learn along the way along with easier beginner projects you might want to try at home! Comment below if there’s something you’ve seen that you want me to try I’d love to hear from you!

Very beautiful! You said you use Kamar Varnish first before resin. Is it Krylon Kamar Varnish or Krylon UV Archival varnish or just Krylon Varnish. If not what is the exact name of the varnish you used please. I'm confused on all the different varnishes. Thanks!
@ChromaYadi

No worries, they can be confusing! You will need to use Krylon Kamar Varnish to seal any alcohol ink work for resin use. I also use that spray even if I'm just framing a piece.

Hello! Loving how they turned out! What resin do you use? Any thoughts on UV resin to coat the finished product? Thanks in advance!
@ChromaYadi
@ChromaYadi Год назад
Thank you! I use mas epoxies now. Make sure to spray the finished alcohol ink first with kamar varnish though so the ink doesn't bleed. As far as UV resin goes I've never tried it because I've seen mixed results with it.

Lovely work and colours! I have a question. I want to try a resin piece myself. Can you put alcohol ink on cured resin?( to make more 3d pieces ) And wipe it out with alcohol when im not satisfied? Gr lizz.
@ChromaYadi
@ChromaYadi Год назад
Yes. Since resin once cured would create a non porous surface you can absolutely layer alcohol ink. The only tricky part is I usually seal my ink with kamar varnish before coating it with resin. Otherwise it can bleed and disappear some. I'm not sure then how spraying the ink on top of resin might give a piece a hazy less shiny finish.
@lisannelups9236
@lisannelups9236 Год назад
@@ChromaYadi thank you very much for answering. Yeah now you mention that it could get hazy. Maybe with a new coat of resin would make it less hazy. Or just try to spray it over the alcohol inks carefully and not so much the resin what isnt covered with ink. Well it would be a journey try and error. Thanks again. X

What kind of “heat tool” do you use? I tried this and my acrylic round cracked. My heat gun was too hot maybe?
@ChromaYadi
@ChromaYadi Месяц назад
It's essentially a small hair styling tool, very low heat. Without the hair attachments on it. You can find it here: amzn.to/3MtmIOx . If your acrylic round is cracking your heat gun is definitely too hot.

Is there a layer of resin down first you drop the ink on to or just the plain coaster pls?
@ChromaYadi
@ChromaYadi Год назад
It's just a plain acrylic base coaster ( cut plastic.)

I use nara paper and alcohole ink ….then I start using resin on it …..ink were totally coming out from paper what I đờ now😣
@ChromaYadi
@ChromaYadi Год назад
You need to spray alcohol ink with 3-4 coats of kamar varnish and let it dry before putting resin on top. I made this mistake at first too and ruined some pieces. Hang in there. 💕

What are the coasters made of? Did you have to prime it first?
@ChromaYadi
@ChromaYadi 2 года назад
They're just an acrylic plastic base. No need to prime. I get them from this Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/SwimmingInColor?load_webview=1&bid=gF-SX6_ajjNSnYWv7lSamhlNft6V&section_id=32594244

Hi. They're beautiful. Is the resin you use heatproof? Just thinking of coasters, and would I be able too use for hot drinks? Thankyou x
@ChromaYadi
@ChromaYadi 11 месяцев назад
They're an acrylic cut blank (hard plastic) that start white so I don't have to prime them.
@ChromaYadi
@ChromaYadi 11 месяцев назад
Yes you can use that method with ink. It won't be the same as working with nara or yupo paper but it will work!@@lisannelups9236
