Definitely beats the others hands down. The crumpled foil wick is just brilliant.

Attention to detail, patience, dedication...perfecting perfection, yet simple. Typically Japanese and truly a work of art.

I like simple stoves but I really admire the small scale fabrication going on in this video. It's easy to do a good build if you have the right tools but this masterful and patient work. Thanks for sharing this :)

That video was excellent! Precision drawn diagrams for the parts, excellent video quality...not to mention the meticulous craftsmanship in its construction. Great little stove. Thank you!

it's a true pleasure watching this video. the base with legs is so extremely important. not only will it stabilize the stove on rough surfaces, but it's the main safety feature as well. the bottom of soda cans has a too small diameter to support a pot sitting directly on it. mass * lever arm (i.e. 1/2 diameter of can) / height gives you the torque required to tip the set-up over. so especially light set-ups are prone to tip over when exposed to wind or accidental touch, potentially causing burns and/or scalding. well done! ty, chris

It's a very clever design. And as someone else mentioned, the Japanese attention to detail is legendary. I guess I must be one of those "lazy Americans", because given the choice between spending easily 3 or 4 hours making a stove this intricate, and easy to mess up, I'll spend 20 minutes making a penny stove every time. Of course, it's not really about the stove. This is art, my friends.

I was absolutely gripped by this as a delightful piece of moviemaking.... and, I mean, entirely independently of whether I ever (attempt to) make one of those beautiful little stoves... (Hmmm... some people are compelled to make a good job of EVERYTHING they do, aren't they? Such people deserve the very greatest respect) ... (sincerely)

This stove really beats them all and the pot stand is unique. and steady and also makes it a compact light stove. The tutorial is also very clear and detailed. I also liked the idea of the JB weld underneath the jet holes which gives a more steady direction of the flame and also keeping the jet hole size. The wick being made of aluminium foil also works well. I guess this is the result of a lot of research and dedication. Thanks for the good idea. BTW your workmanship is BRILLIANT. Please tell us what computer program you used to produce the drawings.

+gijefftek Build a Fancy Feast type stove, instead of the tomato paste can, use a Vienna Sausage can, then no cutting, just put 4 holes in, 2 top and 2 bottom, add some Carbon fiber felt, and easiest stove you can make. and you got a boil in 6 or so minutes on 2 cups of water, and burns out in 18 mins, and with an easy simmer ring, last nearly 30mins.
