A follow up to my other comment and a word of caution - one cannot delete the appointments made online! To everyone watching this video: please do not make them unless you really intend to go, otherwise you take them away from people who need it. For educating us this was a great video AAliyah!
I know this is an older video but this might help someone....the Consulate in Chicago usually releases new appointment dates online on Mondays and Tuesdays - they are usually covering the next 3 weeks. (as of Aug 2023)
This was so helpful. Some things I learned for chrome. Use a new browser where only the site is open, be prepared for lots of recapta, be prepared for it to be slow, just wait for it to process. Good luck everyone
i help help with confirming if the total amount of bank statement require should be in the bank throughout the entire month before printing?Like if $4500 is required,if i have $2000 for the first month, can i have $1000 the second month and $1500 for the last month if proving balance for 3months.Or do they mean $4500 in the account throughout the 3months
Hi @9daclock see minute 11:03-11:20 of the video and select the appropriate drop down options for a work visa appointment at your preferred Mexican consulate. I hope that helps!
Outstanding job young lady. I appreciate your detail. Currently there are no appointments available in Texas for temporary residency here in Dallas or Houston. I will try other cities in Texas, Atlanta and Orlando. Thank you!
This video is super helpful as i have been able to creat an account but having difficulty to get an appointment date.I am not given up,i will keep trying ❤❤❤❤❤.
No problem. Sorry you couldn't get through to anyone. I would try another Consulate, if that's an option for you. Don't give up! We're rooting for you. 😊
New subscriber sends Greetings from Tucson, Arizona. I've been planning a move to Lake Chapala and haven't been able to see how to contact our local Consulate
Hi Jerry! Lake Chapala is beautiful! We hope everything goes smoothly for you. 😊 Let us know how the move goes! I'm not sure how far you are exactly from Phoenix; but I know that there is a Mexican Consulate Office there, if you want to try and reach out to them. Here are their contact details (below). I hope that helps! Consulate General of Mexico in Phoenix, Arizona Address: 320 E McDowell Rd #105. Phoenix, AZ 85004. Telephone: +1 (602) 242-7398. Email: conphoenix@sre.gob.mx. Office Hours: Monday to Friday: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm.
Thanks for your reply. I'm in Tucson and we have a Consulate but they only show a phone number on their site. I stopped by a few weeks ago and they wouldn't open the door. As soon as the Passport arrives I'll try going thru the Phoenix Consulate.@@MixedinMexico
Hey I tried to make my account and I got the validate ur account email but when I click on it and type in my password it says the account username/password is incorrect? I’m so confused 😭
Hi Macy. I too got that message when I first created my account, and later came to realize that the website was extremely case-sensitive; as I forgot that I capitalized the first letter in my email and username, and I was attempting to re-login with all lowercases. Maybe start there? Or try restarting the process with a new email, if possible. Don't give up though! I can understand the frustrations! I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out with more questions!
Anyone else having trouble with the webiste not inputting your information? We have tried on multiple devices and have been unable to book an appointment. When inputting our personal information from drop-down menus, nationality, place of birth, etc, we click the answer and it immediately erases. This has been happening for months and months. It's been impossible to get an appointment. Is anyone else suffering from these types of errors, and if so, how did you get past this? Thanks in advance!
Hi @ArielLovely321 Have you tried reaching out via email or phone to your preferred consulate office? They may have alternate ways of scheduling an appointment, if you're still having difficulties with the website.
You have probably sorted it by now, but I found that if I translated the website to English, I was unable to input my date of birth. I had to keep it in the original language, especially for the date of birth section, and swap between English and Spanish. I hope that helps.
Thanks for sharing. I am trying to book an appointment at the Detroit office, but after verify it doesn’t let me continue. It keeps giving an error that please verify and continue. Any help would be appreciated
Thank you - I know Mexican websites tend to be unpredictable. What is the best web browser to use while making an appointment online at the consulate website? What browser did you use to make your appointments?
Hey Elias! Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment. I usually use the Safari (Apple devices) web browser. Others have had success with Google Chrome, but I used Safari for the demonstration in the video. If you have more questions, please feel free to ask.
Hello Aaliyah, Im currently having a problem with Step 1: Place specifically after clicking on the verify button, it just says "Verify RONAN use the “continue” button to proceed" but then it wont continue to the next Step which is Services. I have seen other tutorial videos that have encountered the same problem. It would make my day if you can help me with this .Thank You! Also I love your videos!
Hi Ronan! Are you referring to minute 10:24-10:42 in the video where it's asking you to verify if you've previously obtained a Matricular ID or Passport at the Consulate Office or not? If so, that field isn't required to continue on and make the appointment; I've had success not ticking either of the options (yes or no) and just continuing to the next page. Did you verify all the other information above was correct? I'm not sure why it wasn't allowing you to continue. Sorry that I can't be more helpful! I'm rooting for you!!
Hi, I know this is old, but I need some advice. I managed to get an appointment for my partner, but instead of putting his old address, where his bank account, business, etc, is still registered, I put our new address as we have just moved in together. Will this affect the visa decision?
Hello, I really appreciate your content. I've been searching for appointments for Temporary residency for Mexico. I have seen Visas as part of the service in Chicago. Does this include Temporary visas? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I'm registered and ready for an appointment, but now it's telling me there is nothing available. How is that possible? Los Angeles is my consulate office.???
Hi @Irishdonnatarot If you are filling out the section for Country, the drop down you're looking for is "Estados Unidos de America" and if you are filling out the section for Nationality, the drop down you're looking for is "Estadounidense." The lists are usually in Spanish. I hope that helps!
@@MixedinMexico Thank you! I went back to watch the steps more carefully. Without your information I would never have been able to setup my account! Gracias!!!
Thank you so much for this informative video!! It is very helpful! Do you also have a video demonstrating how to complete a temporary residency visa form? 🌷🌿✨️😊
Hi! 😊 I'm glad you found the video helpful! We are always looking to improve. I do not YET have a video demonstrating how to complete that step; but I will confirm: it is in the works!
Hi @Adilene It depends on your goals. If you are desiring to register your birth and get your Mexican Birth Certificate for the first time, you would want to choose a "Registro Civil" appointment." But if you already have your Mexican Birth Certificate and you are looking to get your Mexican passport, you would want to select "Passport" for the appointment type. I hope that helps!
Please, do not make “dummy” appointments. It took us over 3 months to be able to schedule the appointments in October across the entire country! We could not find a single consulate with residency visa appointments in ANY STATE logging in every day for 3 months!
Hi, Really helpful and informative video. Thank you so much for doing this:) Quick question, at around 5:45 of your video, once you are logged in, what would be my option to pick to make an appointment for dual nationally.( where it says available procedures) I'm not sure what I need to pick for dual nationally. It's for my son, he is 14 years old. My wife is Mexican, but I'm Salvadrian. Thank you so much in advance.
Hi Mr. Carlos! Thank you for your kind words. You are looking to make a "Registro Civil" appointment at your preferred Consulate Office to register your son's birth using his mother's nationality. This video may prove helpful: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xu7IX3o7_9E.html
@cynthiabaumhauer8403 I have not encountered such an error before. I would try calling your preferred Mexican Consulate and seeing if there is an option to make an appointment by phone or email. I hope that helps!
In Raleigh, NC do they issue visitor visa? I see only the following procedures: Registro Civil /Registro de nacimiento /Registro de nacimiento Pasaporte, Matrícula Consular e INE not the Sub tipo de Tramite;
Hi Anvesh. Below you will find two helpful resources; one showing that the consulate in Raleigh, NC does issue tourist/visitor's VISAs for Mexico [along with what's required], as well as their webpage with the email needed to contact for an appointment at that particular consulate [deptovisasrlg@sre.gob.mx] consulmex.sre.gob.mx/raleigh/index.php/servicios-para-extranjeros/visas?id=332 consulmex.sre.gob.mx/raleigh/index.php/servicios-para-extranjeros/visas It is worth noting that; If you are a resident or citizen of the US [or you possess a US-issued VISA], you will not need a visitor's VISA for Mexico. Feel free to inquire further with your preferred consulate. I hope this helps!
I have been looking for videos on getting my dual citizenship and there are very few available, my mother was born in Mexico and has since deceased, I have a half sister in Mexico but she is only fluent in Spanish, so very little help there. I was planning a trip to Merida around Christmas and was hoping I could possibly just walk into a civil registrar's office but I'm thinking maybe I should at least make an appointment. Also I have noticed different items needed to apply for my Mexican birth certificate in Mexico, So could you possibly make a video on these tasks and paperwork needed please?
Hey William. Thanks for the comment. I've made a video that I think covers a lot of these points. It is all about How to get dual citizenship: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xu7IX3o7_9E.html I hope you find it helpful but if there is anything additional you think I should present in a video, please share. I'd love to know.
Hello William. It took me 5 years to finally get this done same as you. I got my dual citizenship at Christmas 2022. I needed up finding what’s callled a perrito who did all my documents and registered it all in Tijuana Mexico then having to do it at a US mexican consulate. They make it and made it so difficult for me. This person I used I put my full trust in her and in 3 months I got my Mexican passport and I have both my parent who are Mexican and my father did not want to to do this and this “licensiada” was able to do this with just my mothers Mexican passport. If you need her info she does live in Tijuana Mexico and that’s her main job is to assist those who need dual citizenship.
Hi Sonny. That could mean that they don't have any appointments left/available for that service or that they don't carry out that service at all at that particular Consulate. I've found, however, that most times when that is the case with the portal; the Consulate Office specifies on their website to email a certain stated email address of theirs to schedule an appointment, sometimes with all your required documentation. I hope that helps!
Hi,I was wrong types of visa I didn't understand Spanish I wanted to make an appointment for a tourist visa but I clicked on Residente Temporal will he have a solution? To correct in fact I am trying to correct myself but it was already too late do not hesitate to answer me thank you.
at minute 11:09 you will see a drop down menu. The top 3 options are for visitor visas for tourism. You would select the appropriate one for your circumstances. I hope that helps!
Thank you very much! I appreciate your concern. That was a very thoughtful comment. I did use a fake email, name, and phone number in this video just for demonstration and security purposes. 😊
Hi. So I watched your video and when you got to the area where you had to verify your name you did and then continue. But I have been trying to do click continue but they keep saying I should go back and verify.
Hi. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful as I haven't encountered that particular problem. Wish I could be more helpful! Don't give up. Maybe try giving your preferred consulate a call? They may be of more assistance.
I see this video is from only a few months ago but I haven't had any lucky finding a visa appointment at any consulate in the US, only passport and voting appointments are available. I'm not sure if they're just fully booked everywhere or what. I also don't know how far out they offer availability. Do you have any recommendations? Thank you for the video, the site truly takes a bit of time to get used to : )
Hi Jeremiah. This is Mexico's busiest season right now, so I can only imaging the scarce availability at the Consulates. My best advice would just be to keep at it and don't give up. Check the site everyday; multiple times a day. if you can. And if it's a possibility, maybe expand the radius of your search as you look for availability. I hope that helps! We're rooting for you!
Thanks for three info. When I tried to use this website, I got an error saying my information is not found. Maybe I filled something out wrong, but I can't find any sort of email to ask for help.
Hi @SherriDean I'm sorry you were having trouble with the website. I do understand the struggle though; Sometimes finding help on their government sites is like finding a needle in a haystack. I haven't encountered that particular problem, but if you have any other questions along the way, please feel free to reach out. I'd love to be helpful, if I can.
Not sure if you figured it out yet but when I registered with my email, it was all lower case and when I put my email in to log in, it kept putting the first letter in caps. I was using my iPad with a keyboard attached, I had to type it in with the iPad keypad, which allowed me to use a lower case first letter. Hope that helps.
Hi @Bk with Google Chrome and Safari web browsers, next to the URL there is an option to translate from Spanish into English and vice versa. The option looks very similar to a message bubble. I hope that helps! Let me know if you would like me to make a video on it; I'm happy to help.
Hi @saurabhjoshi5681 Do you have an APEC Business Travel Card? That would exempt you from needing a visa for business related activities in Mexico. Otherwise you may need a special work permit visa with permission of the INM to work in Mexico that your employer would request on your behalf. If you don't have access to either, my last resort would be to select [on minute 11:20 of the video] "sin permisso del INM" for tipo de tramite and "visitante con permiso para realizar actividades [remunerado]" for sub tipo de tramite. I hope that helps!
Anyone else having trouble with entering their email on the registration page? I put in my gmail and when I click to register, it says my email is not valid. Tried Edge, Chrome and Ipad. Not sure where to go from here.
Hi @yvettelelorier1817 I'm not sure what the issue could be. I usually encounter that issue when I accidentally add an extra character or my computer autocorrects my email (incorrectly). Have you tried using a different email or method? Sorry you're having difficulties with the site.
Hi @BrightFuture I haven't encountered that problem before. My suggestion would be to try another web browser, if that's an option; or simply follow the prompts of this video, made with an English translations of the site. I hope that helps!
I just got my tourist visa. With my husband and my daughter. But i didn't apply my sons. Can i apply for my sons again with my documents. Not sure of how i can apply for them
Hi @claudiamadam-me5823 You should have no problem applying for your minor son's tourist visa using your same documents used for yourself and your daughter; especially if it is for the same trip and length of stay. I hope that helps! 😊
This very helpful article. I booked my visa appointment in different country since there is no available visa appointment where I lived. I just wanted to know if they will issue the visa on the same day if you got approved?
Hi Ajaine! Yes, typically if your application is approved, they will grant you your VISA on the same day; but I can’t speak for all consulates, however. I know each one can be unique in many ways. My advice would be to try and reach out to your particular office to verify ahead of time, if it is critical for you.
You can book an appointment at your nearest Mexican Consulate or Embassy following the instructions of this video. There are links in the description that may help you identify the closest location near you. I hope that helps!
Thank you - the video was very helpful. I just made a dummy appt for Sept - even though we need to go in Oct to consulate. Do you know how to delete it? I assumed there would be a "cancel" option but I only see "download" and "show"... How did you delete yours?
Thank you for watching our video and commenting. Glad you were able to make an appointment. We also could not find an option online to delete. So you can reach out to the office directly if you desire to do so. Some offices will remove it, others will let it stay. Hope that helps. 😀
Hey Ephrem. I’m sorry you’re having trouble with the website. I’m not sure what the issue could be. Maybe try with another web browser? I hope that helps!
Hi Fiaz. Minute 6:15-6:50 of this video may prove helpful. When you come to the "Country" dropdown menu, select "Brasil" (or your closest/preferred location) and continue on from there with the application. On minute 11:21 you will see a "sub tipo" drop down. Feel free to select whichever of the top 3 options you're looking for in order to request a visitor's visa. I hope that helps!
Hi Dhillon. Turkey is indeed an option to select; I see an option for the Mexican Consulate in Istanbul, Turkey. I’m not sure why it is you’re not seeing it. Here is their email, phone number, and website (below); Maybe try reaching out to them and explaining your situation, they might be able to assist you further: + 90 (212) 284 10 02 infoetb@sre.gob.mx consulmex.sre.gob.mx/estambul/index.php I hope that helps!
Does anyone know how to cancel an appointment? I was checking this out but need to switch dates as I am setting an appointment for 3 siblings ( on same day).
Because there isn't an option to cancel the appointment on the website, as of yet, the best option to cancel an appointment is to reach out to the consulate office via phone or email. I hope this helps!
Hi @dilawarbhatti5574 at minute 11:09 of this video, you will see a dropdown menu. For a tourist visa, you will select one of the top three options (that start with the word "visitante"). Which you select, depends on your circumstances. I hope that helps!
Wonderful site! I am a USA citizen with a passport and currently traveling. Will arrive MX in two weeks. I have been told numerous times that it is mandatory that I make a MX consulate appt in the USA only (?). But is it true I can make an appt. in Mexico? Thanks.
Hi Twyla! Normally a consulate appointment is first required in order to attain temporary residency in Mexico, even as a US Citizen. There are however a number of circumstances that allow for an individual to apply directly in Mexico. I explain some of those exceptional circumstances in the two videos below. I hope it helps! Hello Good evening, am TIMOTHY from Uganda. Currently am in Ecuador for a visit but having a Catholic background, I would love to visit Guadalupe shirine before is it possible to get a tourist visa before going back to Uganda, thanks
Hi Timothy! Nationals from both Ecuador and Uganda need a visa for entry into Mexico. If you don't desire to return to Uganda before visiting Mexico, you may be able to make an appointment at the Mexican Consulate in Ecuador for a tourist visa into Mexico. There is a consulate located in Quito, Ecuador. Here is a helpful link from the Mexican Consulate in Ecuador that might prove resourceful: embamex.sre.gob.mx/ecuador/index.php/servicios-consulares/servicios-para-extranjeros-2-0 I hope that helps! Hi, to apply for family, each member has to register an make their own appointments? Or just the father and bring everyone in at the appointment time? How would be the best way ? Thanks alot!
Hi Robert! Yes, each member of the family would need their own individual appointment. Some offices may allow for just one appointment of the Father [my advice would be to call your preferred Mexican Consulate Office in order to confirm/verify with them], but most offices do require all members to have an appointment however, possibly due to scheduling out the appropriate time slots. I hope this helps!
Hi @zjiko on minute 11:21 you will see a drop down menu for "Sub tipo de Tramite;" & for a tourist VISA, you will select one of the top two options for a visitor's VISA based on your circumstances. I would not select a temporary resident visa appointment, as they can be very particular at the office if you don't have the correct tramite for the appointment and send you away. [Resident VISAs are also more restrictive in what they require; as opposed to a visitor's VISA] I hope this helps!
Hello madam ,, please I've applied for a visa before and couldn't travel with it till it expires. Please would I be given a new one when I applied using the old one ??
Hi Umar! Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment. If your Mexican VISA expired before you were able to travel to Mexico; it is my understanding that you will need to reapply for a new valid visa using all the required paperwork once again. It can’t hurt to contact the consulate office ahead of time to see what they may recommend in your particular situation though. I hope this helps.
There isn't any way (as of yet) online to amend the appointment once it's made. You will have to call to cancel and reschedule using their portal. I hope that helps!
Hi @9daclock131 if you are referring to where it asks for your CURP at minute 8:49 of the video, it doesn't seem to be a required field. Have you tried selecting the blue "Agregar Manualmente" under the section for CURP?

Hi @uturnlife If you've recently gotten a Mexico Tourist VISA, no need to worry; just show that to the custom's official upon entry into the country. If an FMM card is necessary at your point of entry, you will be provided with one. Most airports, however, have eliminated the use and issuance of the physical FMM forms upon entry and transitioned to issuing them electronically [automatically]. Hi Jessica. I ran into a similar problem after creating my account. My suggestion (if it is the same issue) would be to type the email exactly as you did when you created the account, including any capitol/lowercase letters; as their portal seems to be very case sensitive. When I created my account, I typed my registered email with a capitol letter; so when logging in to the account, it only allowed me if I again typed in that capitol letter for my email. I hope that helps!
Hi @rassterry If you follow the steps of the video, and find availability at your preferred Mexican Consulate, that Consulate's website should provide you with the required information and list documentation needed in order to obtain a VISA for travel to Mexico! I hope that helps!
Hey Jose! According to the Mexican government website [linked below] it appears that the "Movil" consulates provide select services during the weekends, possibly directly outside of the Consulate office. The exact wording (in Spanish) is: "Los consulados móviles prestan servicios consulares fuera de la Oficina Consular durante los fines de semana. Hi Robert! Every office is different and may have different requirements for payment; but most of them only require you to pay in the office at the time of your appointment. I have heard of some offices only accepting cash, while others I know have the option to pay with a debit/credit card. My advice would be to come to the appointment over-prepared with both options [cash and card], just in case. I hope this helps!
@@MixedinMexico Do you also know if everyone in the family want to apply, is that requires every each member to make their own appointment's or just make one for who support's his family. And let him bring all of their families documents to that single appointment? After appointment made as you showed online, and if is any reason you need to change or even cancel what is the best way just in case? Thanks!
Hi @RobertH yes, typically every member of the family needs their own individual appointment; even if they are being supported by the one income of the family head. My advice would be to make the primary supporter’s appointment the first of all the appointments, and on that particular appointment explain your circumstances/desires and see if the consulate official will just handle all the paperwork for the whole family on that appointment. The worst they can say is no; but if they say yes, then I would inform the official of the other appointments and have him/her cancel them (after the paperwork is handled). There isn’t an arrangement, to my knowledge, at the moment for canceling or rescheduling consulate appointments. I hope that helps!
Hi Kashi Khan! On minute 11:21 of the video, you will see a drop down menu for "Sub tipo de Tramite;" and for a tourist VISA, you will want to select one of the top two options for a visitor's VISA based on your circumstances. Hope that helps!
@@MixedinMexico Thanks for your response, could you please send me a screenshot of that option for short term tourist visa/ I am still confused about selection
Hi Hassam. Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment. If you don’t see “sin permiso del INM” as an option, it could mean that your selected consulate office may not be processing those particular visas. You could try reaching out to that consulate to confirm or try a different consulate, if that is an option for you. I hope this helps.

I don’t have any experience with acquiring a Visitor VISA for Mexico, so I can’t answer with certainty; but here is a helpful resource for you: embamex.sre.gob.mx
Hi Sanny. This is for any appointment at a Mexican Consulate; including making a visitor's visa appointment, if that is what you are looking to do. If that is indeed what you are looking to do, you will notice 2 crucial steps in making that appointment at minute 11:04 where I checked/selected "visa" and at minute 11:30 where I selected the type of visa to be requested. I hope that helps!
I have recently attempted numerous times to make appointments but keep getting a no appointments available message. Is this normal or am I missing something. Is there some special time that is best to check? I'm getting pretty frustrated because it seems I'm following the instructions.
I'm having the same thing. After trying for two weeks, calling every number I can try. Just looked at 50 different consulates and found only 2 with appointments through their website. Freaking out! I've heard some consulates just do walk-ins? Any information from anyone on what may be going on would be helpful!
@@getlostblue_coach Thank you for your feedback! It's good to know there is someone else and it's not just me. If you crack the code let me know and likewise.
I wish there was a secret formula I could share to guarantee an appointment slot; but I don’t have that ….yet. If I find one, you two will be the first to know. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be. My best advice is to check back regularly and refresh! Don’t give up! We’re rooting for you guys!!
I did talk to someone who got a visa recently through ABQ, and they said they had to just walk in to get any information, and did get an appointment that way too. Going to try that!
I was able to get an appointment at the San Diego Consulate after numerous attempts. Don't think I did anything different, it was around 10 am on Thursday morning. I am not positive I requested the correct services but it was all that they offered; fé pública, across notariales, poderes registro. I hope Permanent Residency application fits in there somewhere.
