Tip, spray paint is not a good idea for foam, the foam is too flexible, and the paint will crack over time if it's used, this is quite an old video, so this might've already come up, but normal acrylics or plaid fx paint Is the far better choice
I plan I building this helmet out of actual metal (from the dump), but once the snow melts, so I could get back into my shop, and finish that suit if chainmail... 🤔
I don’t currently have any more Dark Souls projects planned, as this was kind of spur of the moment. I really like the different armor designs though, so it’s not out of the question!
The "cones" on the "ears" of the helmet are the hinges for the visor, the thing you keep calling the "face plate". Is this was an actual metal helmet, you'd need a way to take it off. With an armet or a close helm (what this thing would be historically), hinges is be how you get in and out of the helm.
Nice helm... Though I recommend your "stunt team" learn some HEMA and how to move faster in a choreographed fight. Even watching at x2 speed you guys looked slow. Look up Adorea Olomouc if you wanna see it done right. You guys looked like an elementary school production. I know that sounds very negative, but I'm just giving honest feedback and giving a few ways to improve.
WarriorCreedYT I said... No, it isn't and it wouldn't. Do some BASIC research into real armour before declaring ill-informed views as fact. Do you really think full plate armour would have been worn if it makes you that slow? When anti-armour weapons existed? Full plate armour designed for combat is only 20-30kg and its distributed across your ENTIRE body. Armoured vs Unarmoured mobility reduction is negligible. You're spewing misinformation. The average modern Automatic Rifleman's assault load in COMBAT is over 50kg and that is supported almost entirely on the torso alone. I do HEMA and my training equipment is on the heavier end of what a full harness of plate armour would weigh and I fight and train in that for hours. My speed when NOT in my training gear is the same. If I'm any slower in my gear, it's as I said earlier, negligible. Copy/Pasted that from the comment that shows just fine for me. Probably comes off more than a little abrasive. But I dislike when people spread misinformation on a subject I'm quite knowledgeable and passionate about.
In the Age of Ancients the world was unformed, shrouded by fog. A land of gray crags, Archtrees and Everlasting Dragons. But then there was Fire and with fire came disparity. Heat and cold, life and death, and of course, light and dark. Then from the dark, They came, and found the Souls of Lords within the flame. Nito, the First of the Dead, The Witch of Izalith and her Daughters of Chaos, Gwyn, the Lord of Sunlight, and his faithful knights. And the Furtive Pygmy, so easily forgotten With the strength of Lords, they challenged the Dragons. Gwyn's mighty bolts peeled apart their stone scales. The Witches weaved great firestorms. Nito unleashed a miasma of death and disease. And Seath the Scaleless betrayed his own, and the Dragons were no more. Thus began the Age of Fire. But soon the flames will fade and only Dark will remain. Even now there are only embers, and man sees not light, but only endless nights. And amongst the living are seen, carriers of the accursed Darksign. Yes, indeed. The Darksign brands the Undead. And in this land, the Undead are corralled and led to the north, where they are locked away, to await the end of the world... This is your fate.
