The gortt is a cute, funny touch, but it is hanging instead of being dragged and immediately breaks my immersion somehow >.> Love the build! Very inspiring

Yeah, the grott kind of ruins the movement of the whole piece but it'd be really difficult to model one that looks like it's being dragged by the projectile. Overall the dynamic looks really sick though.

Maybe he could try Kit bashing at some point. He could Frankenstein together an ork that would work. But I do agree with you, probably the only slightly negative thing about the build. He even did a really good job on the paint job, and yet he always says he's not great at painting.

Maybe if he cut the grot he has already at the wrists and then shortened its left arm and stuck it back on it would make him hang at a diagonal slant, giving it that sense of moving fast and trailing behind the rocket.

I think it makes it look cartoony in a sort of "record scratch: you're probably wondering how I got here" way. Which I think is hilarious. Haha so I like it.

I've been in this hobby for like 15 years and that's the first time I've ever seen the switch embedded in the base like that. It's so obvious and simple that I'm wondering why I've never seen it before. Great idea! Also the KV-2 is hilariously orky. I have a normal one for Chain of Command/Bolt Action that I just finished for my Soviets. It still looks ridiculous when it's not chibi'd lmao.

Thank you, I like to keep things simple but I also like to hide wires/switch's ect.. so not to distract from the build. Yup I took a look at some real KV-2's and they do look a little silly lol =)

@@MiniatureHobbyist I was thinking for my Polish Winged Hussars homebrew I could use a PL-01 model kit as it's even around the same size and it's a very futuristic looking tank

A lot of human tanks in 40k look very boxy and old-fashioned, depending on the lore for your hussars it might be better to use a WW2 or Ww1 tank. For example, the real world British Mk. 1 Heavy Tank has almost the same profile as a Leman Russ tank, just needs a turret and maybe be shortened a little.

@@WASDLeftClick I’d prefer to use Polish Tanks, I’ll keep that in mind but honestly it’d mostly be an excuse to get a PL-01 kit as they have a really nice profile that I love

An amazing and Inspiring work... The grot feel kinda misplaced there, as he dont look like moving. If l may suggest something: replace the grot for a bigger shell, painted to look like a squig. Save the grot for another project...

Might have been fun to put a big splash of paint on, like the orks found an old tank wreck, smacked it with some spanners, then tossed a paint bucket across the front for just enough speed boost to get back into the fray. Regardless, absolutely dynamite build. Impressive display piece for the shelf!

If you had scraped the smooth surface or sanded it a bit before adding the extra armour along with the plasticard it would have fixed easier. I may have to pick one of those kits up! They look amazing.

Yup normally the super glue is instant, for some reason it took a few seconds. They do quite a few tanks and they all look good =)

"What makes it epic?" Uh, the fact that it looks epic, mate. Your painting has gotten way better (this isn't a knock, it was always good to begin with) especially with the ground effects. I only regret that I have one thumbs up to give.

your builds are so cool, when i was watching and noticed the first ork panel sliding i thought i should mention that just running a rough file over flat areas can help the adhesion of the glue as the texture helps stuff to grip.

Glad I'm not the only person who thought the Toon Tanks KV-2 was a perfect base for an ork tank. I'm currently working on a super grot by mashing their Pz38t and a French medium.

amazing work, I like the blast effect and tank really fits that 40k asthetic... except, it looks like the goblin is standing on an invisible box. some custom work on the legs and feet to look like they were dangling or flying through the air would have done wonders.

For doing the base I'd recommend maybe priming it black then just drybrushing on brownish colours over that, and if you want it to be more dry do some lighter colours too

I like that you called the KV-2 a comical tank. It was designed by the USSR as a bunker buster and fired HE rounds.

I think the grot could be improved, I'm not sure if you could find another model that appears to have more leverage; or if you want to keep the dangling look which I agree was a good idea, maybe use a knife and some green stuff to angle the arms and make it look like theres more drag, it's of course not a major flaw and could be a lot of work with re-painting etc. for minimal change but its the only thing that stands out to me when the rest is amazing.

Looks cool! If you like, try using watered down PVA glue (wood glue) on the coton wool. You can shape that perfectly! And it becomes rock hard! I have used this technic for my 1/700 Slava class what is firing a missile. I made that in two days, because the glue needs thin layers. But this should be thin enough what you have here.

Absolutely love it but if you paint the rim/sides of the base black it would create a sort of frame and separate it from the real world.

KV 2 was a Soviet heavy tank which carried a 152mm howitzer, it was used during WW2 against the germans and it was called ' the Giant " by the germans

I love it.... amazing skill! But the grot hanging onto the round isn't showing any speed or velocity... it's like he's hanging onto a tree branch... He should be looney tunes hanging on for dear life and being dragged fast with his feet going almost horizontal :P in a superman type pose XD

The look reminds me of the Kliment Voroshilov 2 heavy tank/assault gun or KV-2 Heavy tank/assault gun from 1940-1941 Good Work and keep designing cool Warhammer 40k vehicles because you've earned a new sub which is me
